Sorry but Spike is being way too passive, he had 20y to prepare for this. Dru was overpowered and Spike should control Angel.
Spike is again the last person to meet Buffy, even Angel met her now before him again. We saw on the show how much of a champion/white-hat warrior Spike was after less then 1 year, here he's had 20y and didn't do much of anything outside of moping,brooding and pretty much being useless and not making any difference.

Author's Response: He has never experienced any of Buffy's life before so isn't sure of what is going to happen. It's still before he made his entrance to Sunnydale first time around. Mabel

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Poor Buffy. But i guess being committed is better than Dru killing her. Poor Spike, it must be hard for him to see Dru dusted, he did love her for more than 100 yrs. And also to see Buffy in the mental hosp. A lot of things will change with no Dru in SunnyD. Loved the end when Spike came to see her, hopefully she'll be out soon.

Loved it , can't wait for the next one. =)

LOL OMG Spike with red hair and a mustache. What is he gonna do? I hope it works out and Buffy doesn't get committed. Poor Buffy. Dru is making trouble, Spike will have to figure something out soon or maybe he'll have to stake her. I see creepy Angel is still lurking about.

Can't wait for Fri. update and hopefully some Spike/Buffy interaction soon. =)

This is one of my fave stories at the moment. It's so good and written really well. I loved Spike in this chappie. telling Angel to stay away and do good in LA, not near Buffy.Of course he wont, he's selfish and likes young girls UGH Seriously what were thePTB thinking when they sent Angel ? A cursed vamp who was a horrible human and an even worse vampire. He was gonna help Buffy? Yeah look how well that turned out. And Joss wants us to believe he's the better vamp for Buffy. I'll never believe that,cause he seriously Fuck** her up. OK I'll stop the rant now... it just really pisses me off.;P
And now we have to worry about Dru, cause she is now gone and probably after Buffy. Eeeep.Angel should take care of her, he's the one that made her and drove her insane . Jerk.

Great job, Mabel and Dawn, can't wait for Mon. epi. I am realy anticipating this...

What a marvelous chapter. Thank God Spike gor his sight back. Volkov was hesitant at first but then he was a really good friend and took good care of him, obviously.Love that he was able to drive the DeSoto, he loves his baby. And now Joyce and Hank are having trouble, and Buffy is 12. Almost time to be called. And that means the Giant Forehead will be showing up. Damn.
Loved this--->Good to know that I shouldn't lose my devilish good looks. LOL Gotta love Spike.

I had so many thoughts of where you two could take this scenes of Buffy growing up etc. this chapter totally surprised me and although a part of me is upset at the turn I can understand the need for it. The ripple affect would occur and we need Buffy to be the fighter and champion she is by the lessons she learned early in life. So I have to say Spike being disable makes sense but I kind of hate it too.

This is a very interesting story. I like the idea of Spike making friends and getting people who are important from him not connected to Buffy, and that he has to deal with problems unrelated to her, like this surprising blindness. It makes the story a a lot better than a buffy-centric, miraculously focus on only her and fix everything that ever went wrong in her life. You aren't forgetting the Spike we love, and I really like Noreen and Volkov as you've written them.

What will blindness mean to Spike? Will he stay away from Buffy's family completely until she's a Slayer, or try something new earlier, even if it's just one 'chance' meeting? I really liked the introducing glimpse into your original characters your gave us in this chapter, but it feels like it's building up to Spike's reaction and feelings, so I'm really impatient for the next update!

Author's Response: Thank you. Yes, Spike's life, while Buffy is front and center in his mind, can not revolve around a young Buffy. He's making a life for himself while he waits for her to grow up. LOL at Spike going to the Ice Capades. I love how he's looking out for her. At first I thought the man was from the Council, but he was a perv. Good thing Spike was there.It's so funny the way Spike is making money gambling on things he knows the outcome to, and he feels a little guilty. Good that he didn't feel guilty when he punched Mr. Perv.
I love the pace of this story, can't wait for more to see how Spike can change things.That is, if he can change things.
