I didn't guess that Buffy would be able to accept Spike's affections. Especially after how she reacted the first time. But maybe the claim, the feeling of belonging has helped.

Author's Response: Hello there, Cordykitten! :) Yeah, Spike has to vent his (sexual) frustration somehow, and what better way than to beat up an inanimate object? ;) The link between them certainly helps with the whole intimacy thing, mainly becasue looking into Spike's eyes and feeling him helps Buffy to stay grounded and not drown in the past. And nope, Spike did not know... big surpise indeed! :) Especially since he never would have guessed it, what with Buffy being sexually abused. More to his reaction in the next chapter. What a lucky person Buffy is to have someone who loves her unconditionally and is her personal security blanket. A pity that during Buffy's coma, she didn't lose the memories of the abuse done to her, her path toward healing is one of working through the pain of it all. Speaking of pain, I hope she can dish it out towards one of her abusers, after she trains and tones up after being out of action for so long. Look forward to more chapters.

Buffy has experienced a lot of bad things. She needs time and maybe talk to a counselor. But a non-human one who understands her situation want be easy to find.
They still have a lot of work in front of them. But I'm sure they'll make it. *fingers crossed* that the ritual went well.
