Weird creature, this 'friend' of Spike that Spike didn't recognize.
I liked that Spike stood up for Buffy, too.
And now they have a clue what to do, how to get rid of the demons. That's a big step from what they had been.
Buffy is so sure that her parents are better off without her. I don't know how her father is (in this story here) but I know that her mother should care a lot for hear and I think she would want to know. But Buffy isn't ready for that.
Ah... I wondered. The ritual would have taken care of the demon and Spike had to leave Buffy alone. Got me thinking if the demon wouldn't try something. Sadly he did.

Author's Response: Haha, not all of us would show such restraint! *sigh* Not me, I'm just so damn weak! lol It was the messenger from Buffy's nightmare, poor Spike was startled to see him all real and in their hotel room. :) The ritual will ensue, let's hope it will be fun to read! They miss her alright, not seeing her for months- they're convinced she's dead. Buffy's afraid how would they react if they knew what she'd been through, but she'll have to face the situation eventually! Is it the demon, or was it all Buffy, and what happened?? Interesting chapter. I guess they will have to do more than a blood link. My guess that Spike's friend is Steve. I can't wait for the next update.

Seems the mating is the thing to go; otherwise that demon wouldn't have fight against it (the black blood). That will be a bit more complicated as they want.

So William was 'lucky' before when he was very young to fall in love with the wrong girl. Poor one.
Spike got a key but what (where) is the door. A door to Buffy (her fears)? Not sure yet. But the 'bad demon' in Buffy was watching Spike (guessing here).

i have to say that initially I wasn't sure if I'd be able to read this story. I really not care much for stories that focus on Buffy as a rape or otherwise abused victim. However, now that she is out of there, I do admire the way you aren't just bypassing the emotional impact on Buffy. In "real-life" this experience would probably result in life-long lasting emotional destruction which obviously wouldn't serve this story. But I'm glad that you arern't just skipping the very real post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms that would be a natural result. And....was that Dawn by any chance? Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: I try as hard as I can to feel what it would be like to be in her skin. Though I can only imagine it, I'm trying not to sweep it under the rug. She won't ever be the same, won't be able to be normal, and I'm not planning on pulling out the everything's alright with the world card 'cause I don't think it would ring true. The only thing that's saving her from going off the deep end is the connection with Spike, the feeling that she's not alone. I'm really happy you gave this fic a chance, and I'll try hard not to disappoint you!!
