I'm so have had enough of this Spike's is being a jerk because he cares about his family or Spike is being a jerk even though he was lied to and is having trouble being with someone who is younger and trusting them. . There are some people who was lied to about the person they were going to sleep with and it has really damage them to some degree. They feel guilty and they feel like that it was their fault for sleeping with someone who is a minor.. You think it isn't a big deal. But it could be and that is why you shouldn't lie about things like this. I feel so bad for William in this story because it seems like everybody is against him in this story.

Please keep writing and update as soon as you can, because I would like to read the end of this story, a happy end of course.

Just read the last 3 chapters. I don't know why Spike is being called a jerk and an idiot. I happen to agree with Spike and understand where he is coming from. Buffy is the one who lied to him. She is the one who did wrong in this. Not Spike. Spike has been hurt and lied to often in his life so of course he is going to have trouble trusting again. That is just the way it goes for a lot of people. I also think that a 17 year old is a kid. Yes, Spike is only 5 years older than her. But there is a difference between someone who is 17 and 22. A 17 year old is still living at home and most 22 years old are on their own and going to college or working. That 5 year gap does make it difference during that point of life. Now, if someone was like 25 and the other person was 30 then it doesn't make that much of a difference. I'm not saying that a 22 year old and a 17 year old shouldn't date. But I don't think as a parent that I would be very happy about it either but most likely accept it anyway. This is just my opinion. I also think that if it was Spike who lied about his age and Buffy was the older one. Then people would be complaining what a liar Spike is and what a jerk he is for lying. But since it is Buffy that lied to Spike. People are complaining that Spike is being a bit of a jerk because he is being hard on the poor innocent young girl. But Buffy isn't innocent in this. A point that she is trying so hard to prove. If she wants to be an adult so badly. Act like an adult. Face the consequences of your actions like an adult. Don't act like a little kid. I think Spike was easy on her. Not to say that I wanted Spike to be really mean to Buffy. I wouldn't want to see that even though I can kind of understand it. But I think Buffy got off easy. It could have been worse. A lot worse. I think people should call Spike as nice instead of a jerk. Cause he was nice and is being nice to Buffy. Another thing is that just because you sleep around doesn't make you a bad person. Cordelia seems to look at her brother as a bad person or not a sweet person just because he sleeps around after being hurt from Dru. That is one thing that made me mad. There are people who sleep around and still very sweet. I feel a little bad for Spike. You can tell he cares for deeply about his family and friends. You can tell he just wants to keep anybody from being hurt. Instead all he gets in return from his close family and friends are people lying to him and calling him names. It makes me feel really bad for Spike.

i love this story loads wish i stumbled across it once its completed i hate waiting lol great story anyway carnt wait 4 more ;)

he's a coward, as usual. seventeen is not a big deal, she's almost eighteen, and he's not even that much older than her. if i'm going by your banner, it's obvious that buffy is pregnant, i wonder just how he'll deal with that.

Author's Response: He is being a bit of a coward, so scared of being hurt (not that he will ever admit that is they real reason why he keeps he at arms length) he hides behind stupid, rules in order to protect himself. Lol i like your interpretation of my banner but just so you know she isn't pregnant.... yet but you never know what the future may bring. Thanks for reading and reviewing.

the age has nothing to do with it, he could date someone the exact same age as him, and there would still be problems. besides, buffy's younger, not older like drusilla was, that doesn't mean the same thing would happen, he should know that buffy's nothing like that crazy bitch. hopefully he comes to his senses soon, because his reasoning is pretty damn stupid, good thing for cordy.

Buffy telling Cordelia must have made Buffy feel a bit better (at last I hope).
It's good to know that she (Cordelia) will try to play matchmaker. :)
