Awww, poor Spike thinking all bad because he might have saved them earlier. He didn't know though, he just didn't want to hurt Buffy, which is of the good. Respectable.

Also totally understandable that they didn't want to go back into the house, but it was safer than being outside where other wild things could get them. Also, the house could hold the key to getting to the portal. Stupid Unari, I wonder what else they will have to do to find the portal.

This part made me laugh so hard:
Buffy's eyes widened when she felt something hard poking her hip. "Um, Spike, what's that hard thing poking me?"

"That means I like you."

Heehee, definitely something Spike would say, no matter how new the relationship is lol.

I can't wait to find out how they get out of this ugly trail. I hope it won't be too much work for them.

Author's Response: *cuddles Spike* He does feel stupid for not getting them out of the gingerbread house earlier, but Buffy is okay with it. That was the first thing that showed her Spike could be a good guy when he wants to be :)

Glad that they are keeping their healthy relationship now that they are free of the witch. And I love how even in their weakened states they are still fighting their shared attraction. Awaiting that combustion, too. Great chapter. Looking forward to the next.

Author's Response: Spike was (and still is) afraid that their relationship will regress once Buffy regains her strength and doesn't need him as much as she did. But so far, so good :)

Mmhmm the Spuffy lusties are still in full force lol They still want each other in a bad way :P

*phew* They still aren't save but at last they killed the witch.
It's right, it was inconvenient that they could have escaped a lot earlier but now they had the time to get to know the other better. Build some trust.
And fitting A/N at the end of the chapter *ggg*

Author's Response: Witchiepoo won't be bothering them anymore :D They're out of any immediate danger, but they've got a little ways to go.

Poor Spike, the most noble thing he's ever done turned out to be the "wrong" decision *cuddles him* I felt that would be so typical a thing to happen to our favorite vamp lol But it wasn't all for naught. Under different circumstances it would have taken them a long time (if ever! lol) to get as close as they have :)

Heehee I had that song from The Wizard of Oz going through my head as I wrote the chapter :P

Oh thank god they escaped that horrid Witchiepoo! And all along it was Buffy's blood that would have done the trick. Poor Spike thinking that even doing good he always messes up. *hugs him*

I loved it PB...the image of Spike pushing the witch in the oven is priceless.
--> He would do or suffer through anything if it meant Buffy had a chance to go on living. Yup and that's exactly what he did in S7.

Spike is such a good caretaker, I don't like Buffy thinking the Unari and this demension is the reason for her feelings for our vamp. I'm sure she'll realize it's not that. :)

That mirror is the portal isn 't it? Is the next fairytale Sleeping Beauty perhaps? Oh I can't wait to find out!

Author's Response: I'm glad you dug it, AMI :D *hugs Spike too* lol Our poor Spikey always seems to have bad luck. He thought he was doing the right thing, that's what counts :)

I loved having Spike kick the witch's evil ass into the oven lol He would have preferred to beat her to a pulp first, but he settled for a quick end to it.

Mmm I just love the nurturing, caregiver side of Spike. You just know he'd be great at it :) They'll find out for sure (eventually) whether they're being influenced by the Unari, until then Buffy and Spike will have to wonder >: D

heehee You'll see in the next chapter if there's anything up with the mirror. I can't reveal where they'll end up next :P Sleeping Beauty may or may not be included heehee There are still a few more chapters in Part 1, I hope you'll enjoy!

Great ending. Is Sleeping Beauty next. I think that is how Buffy will get her kiss. Plus you have that big mirror in the witches bedroom and Buffy is so tired. I can't wait for the next chapter. I am enjoying our trek through these fractured fairy tales.
