They don't know the meanin' o' the word 'bloodshed' YET... 'least I'm putting my money on that theory!!! Wait... I think I see... up in the sky... it's the TREE Signal! It's a job for 'Super-Hacker-Willow'!!! Time for her to brush up both of her kinds of mojo! I'm gonna bet there will soon be some fit hitting the shan... LOL... can't wait for more, but guess I'll have to, huh? And, please... just let Spike EAT Mark, 'k? 'Cos, damn, a dead dog doesn't deserve to have to be subjected to such as he! And maybe let Spike, or Cam & Craig take a metal baseball bat to his joints first (tenderize him up for Spike nice & proper-like...), 'k?
And, IF Spike makes it thru these latest humiliations & tortures, or 'character challenges', and has two grey cells left to rub together, he's now got a crumb of a clue about the fact that something has been done to him further, to his memory(-ies), and with the type of being that Spike is, he will worry with that crumb, and pick at it, pick it raw, over and over again, til he unravels and then starts to piece things together or dig them out of his brain. Like a dog with a bone, he will gnaw and worry with it til he totally has it if at all possible. He won't stop. He won't let go. So, onward we go along on his Hero's Quest ?

You certainly live up to your moniker in this chapter. Waht happeened to Spike is really horrible. Now Cam is captured. I hope this is the beginning of the end for the Initiative. I guess now Buffy will have to be told what is going on.

catching up on 9 and 10 - glad to see Buffy and Willow reconnecting, sounds like Will could do with her old friend as much as Buffy. Hope the boys do not get themselves into too much trouble, but as it's your story who knows! The torture of Spike is difficult to take, but written in your way of keeping us hooked to see if it will get worse or possibly stop, and will he start to remember? As usual more and more questions to be answered - this is still one of the most interesting and unusual fics I have read. Good work.

I have loved this story but its geting too cruel. Spike will be so damaged mentally & physically that Buffy won' t want him back-he is getting to be more robot than vampire. No more please, just give us some hope

Is there more than one Pinnacle Peak? There used to be one in Garden Grove CA, not far from me, but I never went there. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Nice chapter, by the way. I hope Cam doesn't get caught but he doesn't really know how powerful the Initiative really is. He is definitely flirting with danger. And Spike is questioning things. He has to be careful too.

Author's Response: I'm not sure about more of the Pinnacle Peaks - dawnofme told me about it when I needed somewhere for them to go. Cam is being a little naive. Like you said - Spike is becoming aware of his predicament - is that a good thing?

This is keeping me in suspense - it's driving me crazy! I find myself wanting to yell what's going on to my computer, just in case they'll somehow hear me. It is so unfortunate that Spike is having to go through this, but it has given him a seed of doubt towards the Initiative (finally!) It's just painful to watch/read. Keep going!

I haven't been a diligent reviewer and just wanted to express my appreciation to you for writing this story. It's difficult to read what Spike has to endure, but I'm addicted to it. Usually after a chapter I tell myself that I've got to think before reviewing and by then you've posted another chapter.So here's a whole bunch of random thoughts I've had about this story:
- It kills me that Spike is reduced to nothing more than a vicious hunter, devoid of the love and compassion he had with Buffy and her boys;
-I get that you're trying to show us the strength of Spikels character by continuing to show the degradation he endures whike in the hands of the Initiative;
-I hope nothing further devastating happens to Cam and Craig;
-Your moments of buffy-Willow levity makes me wish we got to see the two regain those moments in canon;
AND
-You're totally awesome for taking the readers on a really difficult journey through a fantastic story.


Author's Response: Reviews like this make writing the story worthwhile. Spike is indeed being dehumanised by the Initiative - becoming a 'thing' rather than a person. Cam is living dangerously with the knowledge he is uncovering. Thank you for such lovely comments. Hope I keep you gripped right to the end. :D There's a long way to go.

This is killing me. They are in so much pain, and Spike obviously is in a world that doesn't care squat about him. (Like the initiative ever did) I am glad that Cam found out about the attack on Craig, no matter how painful it was to watch. They need to catch Buffy up soon, though. She is feeling so betrayed and it is horrible to see her angry and grieving at the same time.
It is breaking my heart to follow their struggles, but keep it going. I am definitely following.

I really like this very original story, but you never let us know what Spike feels for Buffy. Does he remember...think of....dream of her? Does he care what this is doing to her, not just the boys?It's all one-sided like her "ownership " of him was just the best choice he could make at the time. Otherwise - you've done something unique, which is hard to do! Thanks.

Author's Response: Spike is really no longer capable of remember Buffy or the boys. His love for them was evident when Maggie had Craig attacked and subsequently showed him how the family was being torn apart but since they erased his memory of them , he really is slowly being reduced to a more animalistic creature.
