Sad to say but it's really better to be careful with Xander and Giles when it comes to demon-Spike.
Oh... Buffy talked to Spike again last chapter, didn't see William after that. And got to know something and accepted it (that she need a bit of demon in her man). And now William smokes like Spike does. *keeps her eyes open for more signs*
And he likes hot food. You need indeed a good stomach for this.
Buffy is right about that: It's just that Spike didn't do it for the reward. ...He sacrificed himself for me. And literally saved billions of lives while doing it. With no thought or hope of reward. But Angel does, it's about what he gets.
And Buffy learned another lesson now unconditional love, she is really getting better. Epiphany that the needs both of them, man and monster.
Ah I wondered about the missing invitation but Buffy said to William Come on in. Connected. :)
Loved Spike's reaction to Angel and Willow's reaction to Spike.
The soul? Didn't expect that.

Oh......what fun this chapter was! I personally don't dislike Angel (at least in principle) but I always laugh out loud at your characterization of him--he does come off as a self-important doofus :-). And may I just say how hot the Spuffy was in this chapter, loved it!

Author's Response: I don't really dislike Angel either - I enjoyed AtS. But I don't think he's right for Buffy and he does come across as self-righteous, stuck on himself and with a god complex. So I write him that way. :D I'm so glad you're enjoying it! Thank you!

Willow is quick to say to dust Spike; they don't know what happened yet, if they still need him.
Buffy has met Spike now and William has bleached his hair again - coincidence? Or these two events are linked.
Maybe it's a big lesson for Buffy to learn what she wants of Spike - and it seems it isn't the human form like she believed.
Ah Spike was looking for her and found her home. So he doesn't remember a lot, seems he got from the amulet to Rome.
Mmmh-hmmm Buffy said it herself, she's turned on by the demon, not the human. Perhaps because of her own demon in her, the slayer. Sounds as if she is learning her lesson.

Of course she feels passion and lust for the demon but she needs William for the love and trust. It is so obvious that they are both Spike only split like what happened to Xander with the Toth demon. I was just hoping that there might have been a little more feelings for William; but then if there was she might not feel the need to keep the demon existing if there was a way to keep William and not have to worry about some kind of link if William was perfect and she felt nothing for the demon.

Author's Response: If William was enough, she'd have no trouble dusting the demon. But Buffy always needs some monster in her man - she just wouldn't admit it, with her hang-up about 'normal'. She's learning. :D Thank you so much for enjoying it!

Spike with his restlessness and his energy, always in motion, always seems like one of the big cats to me and I write him like that. (Angel, on the other hand, always seemed like a mastiff. :D) I'm so glad you're liking it!

It's lovely to still see new ideas in the fandom, even after all this time. I really do love the idea of Buffy and Spike, and I hate what Joss has done to her in the comics. Truly, I would much rather read the stories from the Spuffy websites any day of the week.

That was a surprise to see a human version of Spike now (but that's why you have two Spikes on your banner, huh?)
So maybe Spike got split into a human William form and the later version, Spike the vamp. Should that be the case I looking forward to see how different it makes them both. Or how familiar.
Ahhh Spike seems indeed to be 'pure' vampire. Maybe the PTBs wanted to show Buffy something.
But doing that - making two of one - doesn't seem right. Hopefully they can fix it again, bringing the 'old' Spike back.

Enjoyed the update. Seven chapters - so maybe I'll read most of them later I guess (regarding at the time they are posted) because I have to work. But now I know what I can be looking forward to. :))
Seems as if not many people read at TSR, more at EF, regarding the count of comments.

Author's Response: That's why there's two Spikes on the banner, yes. :) I hadn't tried William before, but I still didn't want to give up vamp-Spike, so this was a way to have my cake and eat it. *g* Thank you for enjoying it! I don't know whether it's that more people read at EF or that less people are reviewing on TSR and BSV. EF doesn't tell one how many people read, unlike TSR and BSV.
