I simply love it. She knows something, though not quite what, and he knows nearly all of it. Absolutely amazing. And the regret that he has for his actions... Such beautiful pain. How different he could have been if he'd simply know that she continued to exist. And her so simply taught that a vampire has nothing to be redeemed by. I await their meeting. So very incredible. Author's Response: Aaah you made me smile! :) I'm happy that you like the story so far, BuffyRat! Buffy is being suspicious, but has no idea that it could be anything like William not being dead. She'll get even more clues in the next chapter though she won't understand what they mean. Spike on the other hand already knows and regrets that what he did drove him away from Buffy. He can't change the past, but he can affect the future. It will be hard for him to prove that he still has humanity though, since Buffy is not exactly demon-tolerant. She's got a deep grudge against them, but we know Spike doesn't give up easily. ;) Update very soon, as soon as I get it back from my beta. :D Thanks for the awesome review!!! :)

Uh-huh... Giles knows that Spike is William? Yes, he better tell her, the surprise will be very big if she finds out on her own.
Ah well, he tried but not very hard.
Spike took it hard, he was very much surprised. Looking forward to how Buffy reacted. Hopefully Spike running away instead of trying to kill him at once will earn him some points. *sigh* But I doubt it.

Giles knows that William and Spike are the same person, but he's keeping it from Buffy for her own good, wanting to spare her further grief. Or so he thinks. It'll definitely kick him in the ass when she finds out the truth later. Spike was definitely shocked, the poor vamp. We're a couple of chapters away from their face to face meeting! Buffy's mindset of vampire=evil won't help Spike's case. More soon, and thank you for the wonderful review!!! :D
