That was an amazing chapter. So very many interesting implications for our couple and his soul. Not to mention all the side effects from the original curse placed upon him and the ramifications. And the emotional catch-22 that he has a part of his soul when he first went on his rampage, and getting his soul showed him that fact and allowed him to feel the double guilt that he was soul-full as he raged. I can only imagine how he will overcome this. Actually, that would be right where Buffy comes in. I love it. Update soon.

Author's Response: It makes me so happy that you think so! :) The soul is definitely an issue and they'll have to figure out how to break Hermes' ownership over it. The unfinished ritual was the reason it never fully left William, often making him feel more than he should have as a vampire. And all that rage and grief, he channeled in a very bad way. He realizes that, and it's even worse knowing he has nothing but himself to blame for all the things he's done. It is so clever of you to mention that. :) He'll just have to forgive himself, and Buffy's there to help him and just be there when he needs to lean on someone. I'm so happy you enjoy the story. Spike can be so lucky that he has Buffy - and that Buffy is Buffy, not giving up.
But William's soul still seems to be an issue. One that Buffy will help with if she can.
I hope she can help. Spike is still not well yet. But maybe having Buffy there will help though at one point he needs to feed too.

Author's Response: Yup, Buffy's stubborness is proving to be a great asset right now. :) We know she never gives up on her loved ones and she's even more protective of Spike since she's already lost him once.
