Finally caught up with the chapters. Yay for me. I wonder what awful crime Buffy is being accused of. I love that you have included Andrew. He is such a fun character. And him being Spike's brother is just hilarious. I could already imagine what sorts of trouble he'll get into. (Sneaking in the dungeons to see a certain witch). Can't wait for the next chapter. ^^

Author's Response: Heya sugar! I'm happy you kept on reading! I'm sorry to say that the next chapter won't hold many answers yet. But the one after that...will have plenty, i think. Andrew is one of my faves and I just couldn't resist but to give him to Spike as his little brother... ;) We'll see what he comes up with... maybe his appearance will lighten the mood a bit. The men dishing out the punishment seem to be as evil as the devil for doing the Church's work. Whatever crime Buffy is paying for, shouldn't she at least get a formal accusation in front of a tribunal? Seems like she is to be tortured into compliance before being accused. Perhaps Buffy can request to confess before a priest to at least say that she may be guilty of being born to poor circumstances but nothing else. If she were to ask to be baptised since she is practically being drowned anyways, maybe she could delay being tortured and fate could intervene to absolve her of the supposed crimes. Keeps fingers crossed that she will not have to endure further torments.

Author's Response: Yup... I've always thought it that men punishing 'witches, murderers and heretics' in that time were awful and very sinful themselves. I don't want to say much here, but as for why Buffy hadn't recieved the formal accusation is, because there is too many accused witches in that time and some didn't get as far to even say they are not guilty. they were tortured first so all they would say at the tribunal is that they are guilty - less of a work for them. it was enough that someone their own status or higher saw them at the act of 'crime' and accuse them. if she were royal, only royal witness could have doomed her. But Buffy is poor... and her crime itself, at least the one as terrible to give her this punishment, will be revealed in the next chapter. and after that, things will get on quite quickly. Spike won't get to torture her for very long.

Why was she always an outcast ? And Andrew-he's going to go to the dungeon and let the cat out of the bag somehow..
And Spike.. already attracted and labeling it - because she is a witch.
