Sorry I haven't commented, but I've been lurking. I like the interactions between Buffy and Spike when they first met, I feel like those flashbacks work well in the story. Honestly, the review Will's past felt less organic within the story, though they contained information interesting to know.

Is the stalking thing foreshadowing? It's really got me hooked.

Author's Response: Initially, I was hesitant in writing about Will's past, but I felt it was important for the readers to understand his past which in turn will help them understand his reactions and actions in the present. Love what a stalker Spike was! This was totally the actions of a man who has never before dealt with his feelings in a healthy way, which is totally perfect. He's lucky he's so darn good looking! I'm looking forward to them emotionally healing and moving back toward each other. :-)

I feel that you capture the true evolution of William/Spike's and Buffy/Anne's buddening relationship.

Your story makes me realize that, for me anyway, this was the true meaning of Buffy and Spike's relationship in the actual show. I watched Season 6 and 7 and seemed to sense what Joss was trying to tell us.
For me, Spike and the Slayer's relationship was very sexual, passionate and explosive and may have been misconceived by many viewers. I felt that Joss and his writers were trying to let William and Buffy's true feelings for each other shine through and somehow they missed the mark?
William or Spike had been wooing Buffy for years because he truly felt connected to her and I think the 'girl' in Buffy truly felt connected to him.
I guess I always felt that as in your story, Spike/William and Buffy/Anne were truly soul mates and lovers in every sense of the word, even in the show.

Brava on another wonderful, lovely and realistic chapter.

Author's Response: Again, I'm at a lost for words with your review. However, this time I'll give it a shot. I agree: the relationship between slayer and vampire was "explosive." But this was only one facet of their characters, which viewers seemed to latch onto. There was also Buffy the woman and Spike the man who was mainly overlooked. Each needed comfort and tried to find it in a world where those around them couldn't provide it. For Buffy, I felt even though her friends and Giles loved her, they expected so much and gave sometimes so little back. And then there were Angel and Riley, who expected Buffy to be perfect. The only person that wanted Buffy to be Buffy was her mother. However, Buffy kept her at armslength, and then tragically lost her. As for Spike: when he was William, he never truly fit in. Then when he became a vampire, he lived in Angelus' shadow and was a nursemaid to a loon. During the series, he always tried down playing his intelligence, and up-playing his evilness. I also feel he had a semblance of a soul long before he went to get his back. So, long ramble short, I agree completely with everything you said. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your lovely review.

Loved it once again. I like how he moved slowly to get to know her, and how they got closer as time went on. :) Aww. And nice to see more Doyle too.

And at the end a little reminder that something awful happened. :( i'm dying for you to get to that, but I'm enjoying the look into their past. Slowly things are being revealed.

Great chapter! It was nice seeing him become closer to Giles as well as get his life back together. If I have any gripe is that I wanted to read more! It ended just before he went into Buffy's diner. I was like "noooo"! But I have a feeling that was an evil plan on your part to keep us wanting more. Can't wait to read his point of view. Can't wait to finally see them work through their problems and make up! (Even if it does take long) :-)
