I love that Hank is so onto the Spike crush, even if Buffy and Spike are both in denial about it. I wonder if one of them will break down on Christmas. I don't think he giver her enough credit at being a fighter. Would it be so bad if he had an ally? I know he may fear losing her, but it is so damn sad to think he won't even try. Still can't wait for more. Love every moment they struggle thru. And maybe she should let curiosity find out what "cookies" Spike is talking about. Update soon!

Author's Response: Sometimes it takes a person with an outside perspective to see things objectivelly. ;) Unfortunately, neither Buffy and Spike can do that. The chapter for (post) Christmas is already written and should be quite fun. It's the one after the next update. You're right... it would be great if Spike could find in her an ally. He's just too used to being on his own that it's really hard to break that habit and let someone so close on purpose. I'm glad you're liking! Hee... the cookies comment made me giggle! I love it! Just read trough the whole thing, it´s great... I really like Hank in this story, it´s about time he got to be the good guy :)

I wrote a review but for some reason TSR claimed that it was the wrong code. And we both know that the first review is the best! Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I love your portrayal of Hank. It's nice to see Buffy with a loving father. It makes me wonder how Buffy's character would have been different with her father's presence. I love that you incorporated Joyce as Giles' wife -- and the fact that Spike knew without a doubt that she would have him spilling his secrets over hot chocolate, no less! I love this, please keep going! =)

Author's Response: Ooh, I hate when that happens. Since it happened to me several times, I now obsessively copy every review/reply before hitting 'submit'. :D Glad you liek Hank!! I thought it would be a nice change of pace int he Buffyverse fic since he's usually depicted as a bad guy... but hell, this is AU, so I can do things that would be too farfetched in canon fics. Giles fit that fatherly role there, so I think Buffy hasn't really missed her father too much. But I too wonder if she'd have been different had Hank stayed in her life. :) Ah, Joyce. Of course she'd have Spike spilling the beans in few seconds flat. lol Perhaps we'll get to see that in one of the future chapters. ;) Thank you for being awesome!!!
