Great story! I don't think you're losing a grasp of Buffy's character at all.

She always seemed sure about the slaying stuff, but not so sure about relationship stuff, or even her own internal dialog. I never got the impression on the show that she had truly come to know who she was yet, or how the slayer and the person melded into who she was. I have to admit, that whole concept is very confusing, and I'm not sure anyone would be able to figure that out without the help of a gifted professional counselor.


Author's Response: Ahh, yes, the whole "cookie dough" thing. Thanks for reminding me of that. I had a couple people who seemed annoyed that Buffy left in the previous chapter, and I wasn't sure if that was because SHE was being annoying or if *I* had written her wrong. Thanks!
