First: YIKES! One demon attack after another and all with the bloodlust. Poor Annie, she really has seen hell on Earth and Buffy having to fight off demons from above, below and all around must be exhausted. Spike on the other hand seems to be rather looney toons with the “conspiracy theory” attitude. I guess that Buffy needs to reason with Spike and ask him to follow his blood and let it tell him what his mind cannot believe. Where is Dawn in all of this? Did she stay in a catatonic state and is in the basement still mumbling the words no? Anyhow, this chapter was chilling.

Author's Response: Buffy is definitely exhausted! And Annie is totally freaked out and exhausted. Spike has probably got good reason to be suspicious - he's been in a world of demons (or nearly all demons) for ten years. I do believe blood will be the determining factor - as you suggested.
