Author's Response: Yes, my muse woke up and said, "Time to make them cry again! No happy holidays around 'ere, mate!" Poor Buffy is having to deal with two completely heartbroken Spikes - wow! How much can one woman take? And poor Bess! Oh, I cried so hard all through this chapter - not quite as bad as the Annie asking 'why' chapter, but it most definitely brought lots of tears. I'll try to have more soon ... there will be a small glimmer of hope and an idea for a plan very soon, so maybe that will help salvage the weekend. I’m sure Andrew and your evil muse will be happy to know that while reading the fight scene between Spike and William I pictured them using light sabers! Loved Spike’s reaction upon learning that William dusted Angel! Maybe they will be able to get together for a pint in the future? Not even going to consider answering your question about what more can go wrong, nope, not going to go there thank you very much. I’m just going to plead for them to rescue Bess – like right now!!! Love that Andrew saved the day. Love the arguing between Buffy and that Spike even more. Some things never change. :) And Her Spike found her. Though I must ask one question. This Spike had to evade all the wetness cause it was soaking though his shoes and causing him to smoke. Last I recall, Unexpected Spike didn't have shoes, at all--the boots were dry rotted. How is he all in the holy water and not in possession of smokey feet? Perhaps his lack of knowledge that he's a vampire? Or simply the pull of Avengelyne? And 2 Spikes? That will be interesting, especially if one of them is "William." :) Update soon!

William's feet will be smoking and burning, but with the Gem they will also be healing up (unlike Gift-less!Spike who could risk dusting if he continued slogging through the holy water goo). That is one special sand storm of a pickle you've worked them into. Tiny, slightly bit serves Angel right for goading the poor boy on, but this cannot in any way be good. And even with all of that, how did they snatch Bess? Can't believe that the reds wouldn't have aspired to have a bigger fight than snatching one small girl... Such a quandary. Gotta update soon... someone of them has to make progress!!

That is a bit unfortunate. Wonder if the vamp trio will have the same fun with leeches like Buffy and the other Spike did? And I do have to wonder who will come to her rescue... Spike isn't the only cow boy at that ranch. (Though he is our favorite.) Also love that Bess may not be all up to date culturally, but the girl still has some snark. I just knew you couldn't possibly end this chapter with a rescue. Love, love, love that Angelpie helped to bring her back! Is this kitty by any chance a reincarnation of Wanda?! I hope that feeling of being flushed down a toilet doesn’t mean they have been either swallowed by the octopus or sent back with it to its original dimension. If so, perhaps they will be sent to an earlier time and they can be the ones to save Buffy and their Buffy won’t have to time travel. Author's Response: Angelpie is Wanda's 'emissary' ... or so she said when she, Bess, and Angelpie met in Philly a while back. So, yeah, there's a bit of guardian angel in Angelpie. I'm actually working (slowly) on a story from Angelpie's POV, but not sure when it will be done. That will answer a few more questions about our little kitty's life. Oh my - what does that feeling of being flushed mean?? We'll find out pretty soon. You have some great ideas about that and I can tell you that one of your theories is right - but I won't tell you which one. I'm mean - sorry.
