"...so she closed the distance and banded her arms around him in a too tight hold she refused to think of as embrace. More like an arm-prison. Yeah, much better."

HAHAHAHA!!!! Oh God, that made my whole week. Loving this fic. So festive and yet so snarky. Thank you for writing it!

OK, time to read more now.

*phew* That little girl had her presents after all. Would be a sad Christmas for her to think Santa had forgotten about her.
I can see why the situation would be weird for Buffy and Spike. *gg*
Looking forward to what will happen next.

Author's Response: They'd have a crying child on their hands then for sure. Let's give it up for hidden prezzies! :D
Oh yeah, weirdness indeed. And there shall be more of that. *g*

At least they saved Christmas for a little girl. Boy, do they need to work through a few things in this world. Really looking forward to the reasons they ended up where they were. And how they cope with it until then. Update soon!

Author's Response: Thank God for those hidden presents! You couldn't be more right about them needing to work through stuff. It should be interesting. ;) Hope you'll like the next chapter! Promise it will be up soon.

Yes, I LOVE that they're still both angry and confused about how to handle this. It'd be hard for anyone to cope with but these two are especially ill-equipped to cope with being plopped down in this scenario. The crotchless panties were a great touch. Poor Buffy.

It seems likely other!Spike isn't a vampire since Emma's convinced he doesn't drink pigs blood. Can't help but wonder what Spike's going to do when he gets hungry and how many mental scars Emma's going to wind up with since she seems to be a daddy's girl. She's super cute, BTW, a combo of sweet and manipulative. Hopefully her real parents get back before she develops some vitamin deficiency from her fake parents' lack of culinary skills.

Always fun! Can't wait for more, I'm dying to know what happens.

Author's Response: Ahh, bless you. :) I'm just trying to keep them both in character and it's not always easy and I do get frustrated and question myself sometimes, but I do try, so it's really awesome you liked this chapter and thought it would be hard for them to cope. And the crotchless panties? I just had to embarass them both. *g*
I've been dropping some hints, this one being quite a big one. You're the first one to mention it though. Well done! ;) The question of hunger will come up as well, quite soon. Don't worry too much about Emma! Promise they won't emotionally scar her. It may be the other way around though. lol Sweet and manipulative is exactly what I wanted her to come off as, which we'll see a bit more of. Also, laughing at the 'vitamin deficiency' part of your review! :D What a good point!
Promise more will be up soon! :)

Ineresting chapter. I can't believe that they are both so inept around children. Maybe they are still in shock. I am going to have to go back and reread this because I don't know what season this is. I know that they don't like each other but their reactions seem pretty extreme. I look forward to the next update. This is a good story and the loft reminds me of their room in Promise of Frost which I believe was already mentioned.

Author's Response: Well, if you think about it, it's not really that hard to believe. :)They're indeed in shock and feeling very out of sorts and overwhelmed by the whole scenario. And besides that, you have to take into consideration that while Spike may be great at taking care of someone, he's also still very much a vampire. He probably never had to take care of a child in his entire unlife (and human life). The only contact he had with one was probably when he got 'pretty girls in pretty dresses' for Dru to eat, so... there you go. And Buffy doesn't really strike me as someone who's a casual babysitter in her spare time either. It'll take them a bit of time to adjust, but they will, no worries. :)
It's somewhere between S4 and S5, so I don't think it's extreme. I think this Buffy is rather nice to Spike considering he consipred with Adam to kill them all quite recently (and numerous times before that). And they've showed camaraderie thus far, even shared an embrace, kind of, and are trying to work together. So, not 100% sure what you mean by extreme. :( Do feel free to tell me though! I'm always up for constructive criticism!
Yes, you're the second person to say the loft reminds you of Promise of Frost! :) That's awesome because I love that fic so much words can't even describe it. More soon, promise!
