I started watching the BTVS and ATS shows a few years ago, and quickly found myself in the fanfiction fandom.

I am absolutely in love with Spike!

After having read an enormous amount of Spuffy fics, I decided to try my hand at writing my own. I'm not a writer by any means, but I enjoy coming up with the stories, and hopefully my writing isn't so bad that others can't enjoy reading them!

I really decided to try writing for two reasons. One, after reading so many Spuffy fics I have an insane amount of story ideas and plot points stuck in my head. I figure the only way to get them out is to write them down. Two, writing isn't something that comes easy to me. I'm slow and tend towards procrastination, like stopping-in-the-middle-of-a-sentence type procrastination. They say practice makes perfect... and I'm just hoping practice will make better.

I figure that most fanfic writers, and readers for that matter, have their own ideas, theories, likes/dislikes about the characters and universes they write/read about. I know I certainly do! Here are some of my own personal Spuffy 'beliefs'. They'll often come across in my stories either subtlety or very in-your-face... so beware readers!

1. I do like Angel, but I am not, in any conceivable way a Bangel fan. Mostly though, I'm not a fan of the Buffy-loves-Angel-forever-and-ever thing. I'm a Spuffy girl so I just don't think theirs was a 'great' love, and I'll probably make that irritatingly clear over and over.

2. I don't believe that a soul is all that important. I will play around with the having and not having of souls, but I will never write a fic from the soul=good, no soul=evil, no grey areas, no exceptions stance.

3. I love Tara! What I love even more is a Spike and Tara relationship! Whoa there people, minds out of the gutter! I'm talking Spike and Tara friendship. I think she's an amazing and versatile character, and I have fun writing her.

4. I like a stronger Spike, I get tired of him always being walked all over. Too often, for me anyway, Buffy (or the Scoobies) are just awful to him and he just takes it. I hate when there is a half-hearted apology and Spike just forgives because he loves her so much. I simply won't write Spike falling all over himself to please Buffy, or following her around like a puppy begging for scraps. I think there is more to their relationship than that.

Hehe! That's enough ranting from me... I kinda got away from myself there.
