Buffy is freaked out by the shock of it but doesn't doubt that this is real. That's a relief constant anchoring us through all the other tribulations

Comments: i guess. well written, nothing so exciting. just some interesting stuff. not an s6 retelling. she's resurrected and reluctantly connects with spike but nothing else from those episodes. lots of xander drama, hank drama, dawn can't have sex yet drama. pregnant. v random angel being a creep? then it's all about travers poisoning dana to erase her memories and then buffy-dana-faith dynamics. pretty close to ending.

Comments: wouldn't reread but interesting. started with a bland - buffy realizes she's a bitch when she's forced to endure a none-too-subtle forced perspective - and then turned into a pretty developed adventure plot. Also some cool twists with leanna/kerala, un-reversed buffy being in a coma, both dimensions get happy endings, canon spike has dreams that turned into memories (simple but not annoying premise for smoothing over dimension hoppage)

Comments: fun adventure. buffy's family dies in an SF fire. Moves to AL to be with grams. meets spike in the library for a few weeks until he helps her with someone asking her out. then she avoids him because she doesn't want to push him away with her angst (lol) and he finds her on halloween and they hang out and kiss. nightmare bracelet and he tells her he's a vampire. their fight when she makes rex take her to a fight = sex. she runs when he doesn't say ily and gets pushed into a river. then the earthquake = claim. princess the cat. sister dawn and ensouled-not crazy drusilla does visions. gem of amara in the antique shop. rex the thunderbird, blake the player, dylan the brachen nerd, stevo the gypsy and ace the sick monster. buffy working in the diner (but never gets brought up again) With an affectionate feeling amidst the tiring emptiness this day had brought her, she thought absently on the conflicting sensations within. She was sated, and relieved and hurting and then just plain stripped; and affection still stood tall with all the other skyscrapers of emotion. She was a mess, but a controlled one at that. Spike's bafflement at the apology showed clearly on his face. Hope threatened to grow strong inside him, and offered the cliff from which he'd be falling if it got too high. The air was still, as if sound might crack it as a punch would a mirror. She had something lodged in her stomach, something heavy and draining. She didn't want to be here. She wanted to be with Spike. Sometimes confusion was ever-present even when something was being explained to you with absolute competency. And sometimes, there was no confusion for even the most vague and half-baked ideas, just utter clarity, fueled by instinct. As the door/wall closed tightly, leaving Buffy alone once again, she felt fire and anger tie together beneath her skin, weaving like a snake around every nerve ending and blood vessel.

Comments: this was very good and dark and creative kidnapped slayer buffy so it's like those preS2 fic where she meets him for the first time while still pretty unschooled and open to shifting her worldview but she's an adult favorite part was before she gets turned, because power (vampire) dynamics are hard for me. but feels less learning edge and more resolved by the end with gwen dead and drusilla planning to leave

Glory – okay, I‘m sorry, I’ll never mention…” Willy ducked down the hallway with Glory gaining on him fast, wielding the glass ashtray again. ....using conversation to highlight what's happening

Comments: what a weirdly meandering summer b/t and S5 story. dominoes, where , before an issue gets addressed a new one pops up. Apart from their mystical sex to avoidance to full reunion romance (where it ends VERY abruptly) there's no cohesive plot. literally just a series of dramatic events that are random or canon...maybe reread to track the chain of events I guess the other main plot theme was fear, which was cool. mostly buffys, a nonjudgemental exploration of all her irrational fears and how she lets them guide her life because she never talks about them or gets comfort from them It was nothing he'd looked for, nothing he wanted, nothing he understood, but he was falling in love with the Slayer. Buffy hated nothing more than others trying to tell her how to live her life, which was ironic, since she spent most of her time seeking the approval of those around her. She wanted to tell him, but she couldn't seem to find the words. She was terribly hungry for his comfort but the thought he might withhold it from her was too much to bear. She saw him move out into the mall and hang about some benches while looking menacing and aloof.
