i'm glad that she was able to turn to him in a moment like that... and that he understood. It clearly meant there is more than a little flirtation, lemonade and cold showers... (not that i wouldn't mind an accurate description of one of those, though... lol)

while reading, i could feel the angst as an almost physical sensation together with buffy... and when she found the body it was quite horrifing... like violent death is, i suppose...

i should mention too that this line "feeling that piece of her—the piece that belonged solely to Riley—wash away in the rain" made me feel sad for riley. for a whole minute, at least. Believe me... this is a great accomplishment! :D

Buffy is unable to say 'no' because her body knows the truth - both about him and how she really feels. And of course her mechanical way of thinking about things is so deeply rooted and such a habit, she refuses to even ponder the possibilities of what she could have, even when it's staring her right in the face. So her body let's her know by not even putting up a fight when he touches her. Rocky morning? No, not really, you've nothing to fear about that which is all I can say for now. i liked how you dealt with buffy's reaction at being abducted. this is a sad truth, but almost always the worst side of being kidnapped isn't the physical one... they can starve you, drug you, leave you alone in the dark for ages or even beat you. Still, nothing broken you as the certainty your loved ones have, somehow, forget you.
