Awesome update. I love how you keep things so historically accurate, it makes the story so much more believable and interesting. I had forgotten that the colors were switched for boys and girls, it seems so absurd now. Great chappy, can't wait for the next one!

Oh the plot thickens. I wonder if his ransom will be paid or if he will have to stay and make a name for himself. But he can't go to Buffy with nothing, relying only on her good graces, that would be torture for him. As always, wonderful chapter.

Hmmm, Tara being the second wife... well from the beginning chapters, you can tell that Tara does like Connor, and we all know she likes Willow, so I actually think it's a good idea. Even if she was rejected by her father, she gets to stay with people that respect and care for her. But it seems the journey is not over for William and Buffy, since he's going back. And now, since she's leaving the conception up to the gods.... me thinks the road ahead may be a little rocky... Great chapter, can't wait for more!!

I'm just catching up on about the last five chapters. William leaving Buffy is so sad, but he wants to be her equal, not beneath her. I can't wait to see Buffy's and William's child, that is going to be great. I'm curious to see how they're going to be reunited (I'm guessing they will be since this is a Spuffy story) and how he will find out about his child. It's heartbreaking to see them both so sad and miserable without the other, but doing nothing about it. I'm curious about the new job that William might take as a soldier. And you did a superb job with this chapter. It was sweet what Connor did for Willow so she wouldn't be discraced in the eyes of everyone else. I agree with Connor though. How could William leave if that is what he felt? Awesome last few chapters, I can't wait to see what you're gonna do next.

If you designed this chapter so we would all hate Buffy at the end, then you did really well. She is being a completely royal bitch on his b-day.
