This is nothing new for them, but it's getting harder for Buffy to ignore her attraction to the married William, and William's trying to pretend his marriage isn't in trouble.

I completely disagree that this is sloppy writing. It is articulate, interesting and proofread carefully. The style is unconventional, but moves the story along in a clear, easy-to-understand manner. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and would love to see more.
