I'm happy Spike talked to the girls about hitting Buffy- that's a step in the right direction, I think. That sucks about Angelus' plan, but that just adds more to the plotline. I just don't want him to step in and think he can control Buffy, too. But she's not losing her edge or fighting heart yet, so that's a good sign. She'll survive this, emotional scars and all

Aaah, peer pressure does get results :-) Love the title of this chapter, by the way- very fitting. And you can really tell Buffy's slow change and Spike's very subtle feelings. Now, when can we expect the next chapter ;-) I'm sure you'll be hearing from me later today LOL!

Spike's quite the jerk in this story - he has some major redeeming ahead, hopefully . . . but anyway this is a really interesting story. I love the way you build up all the tension - great job and I can't wait to read more!

wow, i am so happy that Buffy didnt magically get skills after one fight. I cant wait to find out why she didnt fight harmony. Im hoping its so that she learns faster and better from illyria. I like that Cordy shows small bits of compassion here and there, maybe they have more in common than they think. I also like that you get glimpses of a softer side of Spike, a side i cant wait to see. Wonderfull update and i cant wait for more!!!

Ok, so even this isn't the best situation and there's been mondo violence in her young life - at least she's starting to feel again (too bad it all seems so painful). Hopefully things will get better soon (just keep her away from Angelus until she can defend herself a bit). Cordy seems almost nice in this fic (well, compared to everyone else). I love it and would like more real soon please! Thanks for writing/sharing.

i'm LOVING this fic! Buffy's mix of emotions are perfectly normal in this sort of situation. We've been learning about hostage situations and emotions in my Psychology class, so everytime we discuss things like how hotsgaes feel, i always think about this story. i hope Buffy gets to kick some ass soon! i think Buffy may open up to Spike about what happened to her mother, and this may break through the steel encasing around his heart that Buffy's already made a dent in. Well thats my theory any way! I guess i'll have to wait and see. UPDATE SOON!!!!

Spike may be an ass, but I think letting her train and learn how to fight is pretty giving of him. In a strange way, I have a feeling he's going to protect her at some point, and her being able to fight will help matters quite a bit. If she eventually becomes part of the gang, I think that'd be pretty cool, too. Hank's an ass, by the way- he should have something vicious done to him:)

I hate Hank more then Spike.....he's her father and can't even act like one.........Spike iswho he is for a reason.....and Buffy will either lay with the dogs eventually or make Spike realize their is more to life then violence and crime........she could show him what love is all about, and he can heal her soul.

Great interaction between the gang and Buffy. I wish Buffy would have kicked I.'s face in! Never liked her character, sorry. That's one of the reasons I didn't watch ATS too much, if at all.
Okay, anyway, I hope Spike feels like shit soon and realizes what he's doing to poor Buffy.
