This is a great story - still vampires but a complete turnabout in situation, offering unfamiliar roles and characterizations - thus far. As such, there is no clear storyline route, and this makes it very interesting. Now she is an Aurelian proper, what will happen next?

Good job with this chapter. The ritual was vividly described and again the imagery was quite beautiful (if somewhat terrifying, lol). I'm further impressed with the depth you've bought to Penn's character in this chapter as his struggle was also evident and quite touching. You could easily have made his experience incidental, using him simply as a plot device to bring Buffy into the fold thus making her accessible to Spike (ah the Spuffy lovin...will I ever kick the habit?) You've fortunately managed to resist taking that route and presented instead a story that, while rich in detail and emotion, still leaves the reader hungry to learn more. Thank you.

Laurell K. Hamilton vamp mythology is similar to Anne Rice; vamps can be good and bad, it all depends on personality. I thought you might want to know. Antways this chapter is brillant, kinda curious 'bout this Simone, but I guess thats what you're aiming for! :-D
