Spike knowing Angel was not in love with Buffy and Angel's broken promise not to cheat probably kept Spike from fighting his feelings for Buffy. The adults have certainly made a mess of things, how are they going to keep Lindsey from getting hurt?

This chapter had many surprises for me. First one, I expect Buffy and Angel to start yelling at each other. Second, I never expected her to tell Spike about how she felt on that night. Thirdly, didn't expect Buffy to have so much self-realization. They were all such good surprises. I really enjoyed this chapter. I feel like this was a definite turning point. :-)

I've had it with the 'I love Angel but he hurt me' whine, whine. Get over it Buffy.

I am getting a little tired of martyr Spike, too. For God's sake, man, just kiss the girl and be done with it!

What happened to tough, surly men who took what they wanted, or at the very least, made their feelings known right from the start?

I'm not blaming you, the authoress, this is what our men of today have been reduced to.

Okay, I"m going back into the kitchen to wrap up the leftovers from supper (the supper my SO made, okay) and put them in the fridge for our lunches tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong, my SO is a pain in the ass, constantly, but he's okay, most of the time.

I digress; this story rocks and I hope Buffy does gain some independence, however, I want her to realize that Spike is the light at the end of the tunnel for her.
