Why are the chapters never long enough? I could read this forever. OK here I go with my ramblings. I think that Buffy is beginning to see parts of William in Spike but she is denying to herself (as usual) that William is there. She is not Elizabeth or Buffy now, surely she can see that she is a mix of both. Giles is right she can't go back because it would alter everything and then there's the dream. Elizabeth died to William and he died soon after but his love lived on in Spike. Will Buffy listen? Beautiful as ever.

Okay Im only half way through the chap but I already had just a lot going through my head. Okay so poor Spike. Poor Buffy. Buffy is using Spike to feel William and Spike didn't even realize it till it was too late but the entire time he is William. He remembers her, remembers what they felt and Buffy sees them as two completely different people when Spike doesn't. It's just sad. Ok So I'm going to finish reading.

Author's Response: It's great that you're sympathizing with both of them here. Although Buffy's actions were inappropriate, she didn't intentionally set out to hurt Spike. I'm glad that came across in my writing -- thanks for letting me know. :-D

Loved it! I knew Buffy was going to run away from him (I guess we're lucky you didn't make her punch him in the nose and instead have her say she's sorry).
Now that everyone is starting to know...Tara...Giles...I wonder how they will influence Buffy and her choices regarding Spike. I feel Giles will be all negative but Tara may think differently and side with Dawn about William and Spike being one of the same. I'm afraid too of what Spike will now do now after what they did together. I mean for Spike it probably feels like a thousand knives piercing his body because the pain that he feels is so deep.
I'm was wondering also if you'd make Buffy ask about being sent back in time to William. I would love to see William again and see them get married but I think Buffy needs to stick it out being in her own time--dealing with the consequences. And learn a lesson in love and fate.

Lovely fashback too...nice wrap up to the chapter. William is such a passionate man...sigh....

And this line: “A hundred bloody years…over a hundred…with all the things I did…and you were all I could think about.” got me thinking...did Buffy take the meaning of his words the wrong way. I mean we (the readers) know he was in pain for losing her and he thought of her often. But I'm wondering if Buffy mistook his meaning for something bad. That not only it was her fault for Williams death but for all the lives that he took for when he was turned into a vampire. If thats the case...I'd understand why she feels like she's in hell.



Author's Response: Yes, I'm sure that you're right. Buffy did misconstrue Spike's words as an indication that she is to blame for at least part of the havoc he has wreaked in his life as a vampire. She has a lot of guilt and confusion to wade through before she's ready to accept that he and William are the same man, but she will get there eventually. Thank you so much for the review. :)

I loved it! The last line was especially good. It sums it all up so wonderfully. Spike can still love even though he died, and Buffy should still be able to love Spike even though he is dead. Your work continues to be beautiful. Have you thought about becoming a published author? You really should if you haven't already.

It was almost sweet, how she wanted William and thought about him. Poor Spike. Then Buffy wanted to go back. Bad Giles to go into her stuff.

And denial buffy strikes again, i have to agree with giles, she is being selfish. it's like she just wants to keep being miserable, not realizing that william is still there. i don't think i like this buffy very much, but i'm still hoping for things to get better for them. i'm hoping the baby would bring them closer together, instead of tear them apart even more. maybe the dream will wake her up, and i don't just mean from sleep.

ok so I've rad this entire thing in the last 2 days... ok that might be a small little lie I skipped a few chapters in part 2... I couldn't help myself I wanted to get to the future. I love the story. during the first part I missed spike, good ole rugid spike, during the second part I missed buffy, now I'm just good and happy. lol. What does bother me though is that Angel went straight to 'pregnant' I mean hearing that the loveo f his life and he childe did the dirty hundreds of years ago before he knew her... i wouldn't think he would go straight to pregnant... but i love the story. and it would be kind of ironic if William's innocent virginal seed did gt her pregnant... then there is spike... every mans worse fear.... have sex with a girl almost two hundred years ago and you get that call of shame... lol. I'm loving it. Keep up the good work

Author's Response: Well, Angel was using the "PPD and pregnancy test" line not to suggest that Buffy actually has TB or is pregnant (although both are definite possibilities). But the last thing Angel heard from Spike was that he (Spike, William) had slept with Buffy. Angel's pregnancy test remark had more to do with jealousy and a desire to "out" Buffy's relationship with William than any certainty that she is actually pregnant.

Catching back up on this lovely story :D I had gotten quite behind cause I was waiting for part 3. I did read part 2, altho I don't usually do those stories, I did think this was handled very well, I do confess to waiting till I could read it thru in one swoop and get back to present time.

Anyway, very lovely, as always. I feel for both of them.
