Sorry forget to point out that Willow and Tara need to be helping the comment about well its Buffys house she will have to get a job, doesn't wash, what were they doing touching that money anyways, if Buffy wasn't around then it would go to Dawn and I bet Dawn doesn't know how bad it is either.

Not that I love Willow in general, but it's nice that she isn't shown as a complete bitch, that she was worried about the bills and the mortgage.
I like Dawn, and she cares for Spike, but she can be a handful, with being condecending to Willow and Buffy. Angel is an ass. He knows what went on but he had to be a total ass, even knowing how William loved Buffy. Thanks for the long chap. It was great.

Author's Response: You're right. Willow has her flaws; she can be power hungry and a bit controlling. But she isn't a bad person, and she is worried about Buffy and the state of the finances. I do think, however, that she should be considering her own role in it all, and whether or not she should be contributing to the household she is living in. And Dawn ... what can I say about her other than she's a joy to write? While I wasn't a huge fan of her on the series, I did enjoy her a lot in season five. After that, I think she was underused and misused as a character, and what was a promising new character became a two-dimensional whiner. Anyway, I'm glad you liked the chapter, and thanks so much for the review! :-D

It was a cool twist you having Dawn go off on her own for answers I really liked that and then confronting her sister the way she did. Willow and Tara need a boot kick, don't get me wrong I like them but if I was Buffy when I hear of the money news I'd give those two birds a wake up call and a bill for rent!
It did touch my heart she cut out the old picture of William from that journal I as a fan reader here am hoping soon the lines of good man bad vamp blur a little for her. Well I won't go on and on but I loved this and can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: I think you're totally right in that Willow and Tara should consider contributing to the household they are living in. That was always something that irked me in season six. If they had taken part time jobs, then it's possible Buffy wouldn't have had to quit college to work full time at the Doublemeat Palace. I was so thrilled to see a new chapter up! I've been checking several times a day. :)

Poor Buffy. I feel so sorry for her-- She loved William so much, and no has to face the man who isn't him, but who wears his face.

And yes, I adore Spike, but I can see this from buffy's pov as well.

And my heart breaks for Spike who has loved her always.

I hope Buffy reads the article-- recognizes the people that he attacked. Not that it's okay for him to have killed them, but as a vampire, he had specific targets-== not just random people for the sake of violence.

And poor Angel!! yes, I'm an angel fan. I like him ALOT more in "Angel" then i ever did in BTVS, but I digress. In his own way, he truly did love and care about Buffy, and the thought that the woman Spike so clearly, obviously loved was BUFFY, must just tear him up inside.

And then WIllow! expects everything to just be "okay" right away.

And I can't believe that Willow and Tara never even considered the possibilty that they help pay rent at the place they're LIVING! yeesh.

The pregnancy comment is an interesting one, and, I admit, a tack I was rather hoping you might take. Willow's eyes must be popping out of her skull! lol.

Loving the Spike/Dawn moments... Curious where Giles is in all of this.. haven't heard from him in a while.

All in all, it's fantastic.. I can't wait for more, and applaud you for the fantastic story you have.

She was hard on him in the last chapter, but it was because she was in pain and confused, not because she really wanted to hurt him. I don't want to portray her as a bad guy in this, although I understand why some of the other readers are angry with her now. Thanks so much for the review. :-D

Oh my god!!! Buffy pregnant, that would be great. First of all she would have something left from the old William but perhabs she would see that Spike isn't so bad at all. And why this... I could imagine that Spike would be really happy becoming a Dad.
But... its your story so what do I know :).
I always have a great time reading your update... its sad that I will not have the time for 3 weeks... but hey holiday is always good too :). But than I have something to look forward too... so please update really soon!

My god, that was awesome. Completely worth the wait. I've got my... well, everything crossed, that she needs that pregnancy test!
As I was reading, I noticed that in this story, I find myself actually warming to Dawn, which is amazing as normally I cant stand her character, so a massive "Congrats" for pulling that off.
I just felt so sorry for Buffy throughout. I think it's perfectly understandable, if not a little sad, that she's rejecting Spike. I guess shes just refusing to let herself believe that he really is still that man she loved.
I still adore this fic, and your writing style. Cant WAIT for more... and I'm not above begging if the wait gets too long!
