I read this and thought maybe in his past life as William he might have thought she got pg. and then ran away from him because of it and he blamed himself or something.

I love reading this it always keeps me on my toes guessing at the next post.

Everytime I read this I like to go back and reread their romance. This is a classic in great story telling.

I have been reading this story from beginning to this chapter and I LOVE IT!!! it has made me cry at the touching scenes, and romantic scenes, I was even moved at how well you've given us a clear picture of the relationship with Dru and his family ...I really love it! not to mention the pain it brings me when i read about Buffy's denial and blindness that this Spike is really the William she so desperately wants him to be. I love how you always have some sentence or scene that is foreshadowing a future!!! I am HOOKED on this story!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update more!!!

Anyone else wigging out over Buffy just quietly going along with Giles to the Doctor for a pregnancy test?
She has been so touchy and defensive and closed off about everything but a trip to the Doctor she just meekly goes along with?
It makes me suspect something is up that she has not said.
Even her friends blah-zay attitude like brushing off the idea of it being even a possibility that Buffy could get pregnant like its so ridiculous a thought they brush it off makes me think she is and has maybe been hiding it.

God Giles paint the worst possible picture of William life pre-Spike as just a opportunist on the sexual make. I love Giles but he does always fly ahead with his preconceived ideas on people. I think its great though in this page the Scoobies are actually discussing and trying to make out heads and tails of what all went on with Buffy and trying to understand. I had missed reading this story and am so glad your back.

I could just hug Dawn for going to see Spike again and I liked how you made Spike react to the news of Buffy seeing that book about his past. Well, if she got pregnant on their last time.....he might not be able to detect the changes yet, either. She hasn't been back that long. Even the doctor tests can't tell until at least 2 weeks along, preferably longer. But the heartbeat will be there by 8 weeks. No fooling hyper-sensitive ears, then.

Everybody but Dawn and Spike are still driving me nuts.....well, Anya and Tara haven't done anything, but the Core 4 are just....arrrrrrgh. :D

Author's Response: Actually, an hCG can be given to test for pregnancy as soon as implantation occurs, which is between 6 and 12 days after fertilization. It's been well over six days since Buffy first slept with William (if you remember, she was sent back to the future five days after that happened). And, since the Scoobies and Giles don't really know when she began sleeping with William, or for how long, I think it's only natural that they want to test her as soon as possible. Spike didn't hear a heartbeat, because, as he told Dawn, it would be too early for him to hear one even if it was there. It was the change in her blood, the scent of all those new hormones, that he would have noticed if she were pregnant. That's how he knew she wasn't. :-)
