I was just wondering about the rings because they have a bit of a history.. but they don't have to throw them away ;-)
Seems as if Buffy is feeling more guilty then she acknowledged to herself (because she has trouble to sleep).
Looking forward if Buffy will wake up before Spike is back :)

I really love your story and also I'm sorry to hear about your personal troubles. I'll keep you in my prayers. As for the story, it's interesting getting this played out from a male perspective. I'm trying to write the male perspective in some of the chapters in my story and it's hard to really know if I'm getting it right or not. I think most of the love scenes are written by women and tend to write Spike as from a woman's perspective, which is only natural. The male point of view is very interesting here. Anyway, hope you can continue updating frequently as I really do love to read this one. Thanks for sharing it with us.

As for the fic, I don’t know just how much of the male perspective you’re getting in this, because as much as I am a male (and do so enjoy being one too much) there’s still a part of me that, at least subconsciously, remembers that most of the readers of SR and fanfic in general, are women. My masculinity does make it’s presence known every once in a while, in a few words or actions of Spike, so the perspective is still there, I’m just not sure as to what extent. And I do agree, women do write Spike differently. In a lot of fics I’ve seen him portrayed as the perfect man (and there is a lot of us, men, that do try to be… good, to and for our women, I myself am trying to make peace for the mistakes of my past), but I don’t see that as being realistic, as I’m sure my Buffy is also not very true to character as I can only observe and not be in the mind of a woman :o)

And, I don’t think you need to worry, love. I am reading your fic and your writing of Spike (and Buffy, and the rest of the characters) is brilliant and intensely gratifying.

I just reread some parts of your story ... you have a very nice/clean style of writing. This is such a well thought out and wonderfully penned story. As a reader it is easy to feel as though one is witnessing these two first hand ... such a vivid picture you have painted. Can't (but will) wait for the next installment of your tale...

Oh my goodness, that was too damn sweet! You really got me with that one! No words were necessary, but they both had the same idea in mind with the rings. I think I got a little choked up - for some reason the kissing of the fingertips was the best part. You're forgiven for withholding the reunion kiss that we are all waiting for!

I bet they didn't think they would face a test so soon. Spike's reactions were priceless. And Gunn is quite the observant guy.

Loving the story. Keep up the great work!
