OMFG I CANT BELIEVE JOYCE, SHE WAS SO MEAN ABOUT IT!! Author's Response: Yes, Buffy totally overreacted, but put yourself into her situation. The first guy you sleep with decides to leave you all of the sudden because of her mother. Author's Response: Thanks so much, Angela. I truly hope that the next part of the story isn't "cookie-cutter" and that I'm not overly predictable. There relationship will take a while to pan out in the long run, but only because I want them both to grow up a bit before having them settle in for the long haul. Spike, however, will not be moving on with anyone else; so, that means there won't be any lovin' with Drusilla and I hope that will make yous happy. She will most likely make several appearances, but not be a serious character. The next setting the lovebirds will find themselves in together will be a mental doozy. Hope it can meet your expectations, I would hate to lose you as a reader. Thanks again!

Still find it hard to get my head round the States age of consent being 18 (I'm from England). Having said that if I was in Joyce's situation I'd have probably been worse!! Feel really sorry for Buffy but we all know Spike's plans never work, he has no patience and you like a happy ending. My glass is (unusually for me)half full and I can't wait for more. Love this story.
Author's Response: Well, the age of consent is different through out the states. Like in Alabama, where I live, it's sixteen. I think there is still one state that is even as low as twelve! But, from what I googled, Cali still has it set at eighteen; which worked well for my story. Over the course of the next couple of chapters, you guys will probably be livid with Spike, but all will be explained shortly. Thaks so much!

I thought Joyce was to hard on Buffy, seems like she has forgotten how it's to be young and in love? She has a cynical attitude about men, judging everyone alike, like all men want is sex. She destroyed the magic between Spike and Buffy. Spike broke up with Buffy, I feel sorry for her now. I hope she can understand him, why he acted like he did, and that she'll stop listening to her mothers narrow-mindead arguments. I don't want them to fight, but Buffy has to defend her view, she's not a child any longer, her mother has to let her in, let her make her own decisions and mistakes. I guess her mother really cares about her, but she has to learn how to deal with her feelings about Buffy growing up, not being her little girl. Thanks for writing!

Yes, Joyce was overly hard on Buffy, but then again...my mother would have done the exact same thing, but with flying objects tossed in.
