That won't be easy indeed. Buffy worried Spike again with the Initiative phrases but how should she have known? And something is wrong with him that they didn't notice yet because he can't read anymore, thinking all the letters look the same.

Hah.. Spike has his duster back and Giles nicked a remote control. Good so far.
I hope enough blood will give Spike his ability to talk back. And Spike better won't have a device (or the chip works as one) to track him down. I'll cross my fingers for Willow being successful very soon.

So both Giles and Buffy know now that this is Spike for sure. But Spike showed no sign of recognition her (to know Buffy). In a way it was Buffy's fault that Spike is back with the Initiative; Spike was too drunk to fight (I know, Spike's decision to drink or not).
Good plan to get Willow turn the chip off. Who knows if Maggie won't be able to activate it when Spike is gone (to have him do something even if it is only to go back).
I hope their plan will work; seems as if Spike indeed forgot about Buffy like being deprogrammed. But him touching a knot I see as a good sign.

Mmmm Maggie made Spike a killing machine now. I wonder how deep that is programmed in him or if he can fight that order later.
I'm glad to see neither Giles nor Buffy liked the way Maggie treats the demons. And Spike... I wonder if Buffy can do something to get him out. But then they should seek a way to get the chip out too (Maggie won't like that). (The title is from Universal Soldier, right?)

*waves hi* I've checked the comments this time after I didn't see a warning and read no xx/other. That kept me from reading FotN (I couldn't stand Helen) and D (Spike going bad/back to Drusilla). Seems to be save for me to read this one, huh? ;-)
I wonder why Spike went away / if he has been there (Initiative) the whole year he since he went away. *reads on* Ah yes, he had the luck to fall in the hands of the Initiative a year ago. Sadly I have to say neat chips they have now. Spike went through a lot, still does. Maybe that has changed him already.

Oh thank goodness they've got him out. Looking forward to Spike recovering and then them taking on the Initiative. If they recaptured Spike the day Buffy broke up with thim (As you were) does that mean Riley was behind him being recaptured, or is your timeline different? More please.

Wow! This is really an intense story. And thank you, thank you for not leaving him with those monsters too long into the story--reading endless descriptions of mistreatment (I mean chapter after chapter of it and not what you've done as an introduction to the rest of the story) is pretty brutal so I thank you for that. How sad for all of them and how great that they got him out of there. I love that you update so often and look forward to reading more!
