Giles is turning into an alcoholic. Loved the chapter and how things are not immediately ok nor is Buffy a wimpy mess. You found the right balance for how her character would deal with grief.

Good that Buffy is grieving Spike, I like Willow being there for Buffy and understanding what she's going thru. Wolfram and Hart don't know Spike is gone? Huh?
Buffy's last line to Giles sounded kinda ominous .

Well, doen't seem WR&H had anything to do with Spike's disappearance if they are still sending guys to kill Buffy... confused

.. guess we will find out soon what caused it and what part Buffy played in it ... and where poor Spike is .. and will he come back...

Oh- doldrums...again for Buffy.. alone again naturally.

Author's Response: W & H wouldn't have had anything to do with it. Their goal was to keep him trapped as a ghost so that he couldn't move on. Got a ways to go to find out if Spike makes it back, though. Buffy's got some things to work through...

Sad chapter; I feared for Buffy when I've read that she couldn't mourn.
I hope that she was able to cry will help her. Even more would help if Spike came back ;) (That's what I hope for.)

This was one of the most saddest things I have ever read. I was trying not to cry. But that last sentence that Buffy says in this chapter "But it should smell like him, It should smell like Spike, and it doesn't " broke me. I cried along with Buffy. LOL

Of course I want Spike to come back. I always love my happy endings. But sometimes things don't always end up that way. And I for one wouldn't be TOO upset if Spike doesn't come back if that is your plan. I mean this story is so beautiful. Spike and Buffy's love is so beautiful. That if Spike doesn't come back this time at least he died knowing that he was finally loved in return. And that has to mean everything to him. Since I think that is all Spike wants in life is to love and be loved in return. He is love's bitch. And Buffy can have peace knowing that Spike knows that she loved him with everything she had. It is so beautiful. So bittersweet.
So, whatever way you go. I am with you. Bring Spike back and I will be so happy. I will cry with tears of joy. Don't bring Spike back and I will be ok with that too. My heart will break for Buffy but I will be ok. But I think Buffy wants her Spike back. LOL
Buffy also deals with grief the was way I do. I just keep it all in and try to live my life. I am not one who cries all the time because I am afraid that if I start I wouldn't stop. I also don't like showing people that I am hurting because I don't want them to worry. But of course by keeping it all in then one day you are going to break. You have yourself a good long cry. Then start the same process again.

Wow, another beautiful heartbreaking chapter.
Buffy is so sad but won't cry cause Spike asked her not to. Liked Willow being there for her . Also liked how Giles realizes how much Buffy loved Spike and how they're not close now because of all that happened in the past.
The end with Buffy holding Spike's coat and saying it didn't smell like him broke my heart*cries*

Ah.. Spike noticed that he keeps vanishing. Sounds too like Giles is right, it has started now.
Oh my and Buffy noticed before Spike told her.
Sad to see him gone now *sniff*, but Spike is right: It's better that they had this instead of never had met again. But I really hope Spike will come back.
Would cookies make you update sooner? Didn't think so. *sigh*
