What a breathtaking journey. Buffy, hovering just under the surface, a tantalizing tease of the real woman, taunting Spike, was beautifully written, as was the emotional tightrope it put Spike on. He wants to push, make his Buffy appear again, but fears the consequences of pushing too hard, hoping too much.

The scene at the river's edge, Buffy in agony and unconsolable was both heart hurting and exciting. Like Spike, the reader doesn't know what is going on, and then Buffy is back. Spike's emotional response was pitch perfect. There's so much fear that this is just another blip, and then the realization that she's whole again. Now what?

Thanks for more of this emotional, riveting story.

While at times this story has been hard work to read…hard to absorb with its levels of intense angst I have found it too compelling to walk away from. I suspect that I wouldn’t be suffer from this tight feeling in my chest from dealing with those angsty chapters, if I had done myself a favour and read only one chapter at a time, and not ploughed through all twenty-two in one mammoth sitting. But, as I said, I found it way too compelling to walk away from once I’d started. The world—or Hell—you’ve created is all too vivid, all too real, I feel I can almost reach out and touch it, which is just a little scary. Your talent as a writer and story teller is scary. I will be honest and confess that I haven’t read much of your work, but I like what I have read. And I sincerely believe that if you have a mind to turn your writing talent to the horror genre Steven King had better watch out. I’ve added you to my favourite list and will be reading more of your work in the future and I can’t honestly think of a better way to compliment you than that. Except to say that if you ever go professional, I will want your author name and the web site where I can buy your books.

And there I hoped Buffy would have remembered. - Would have been too easy, huh?
I didn't know that Buffy had hide the knowledge of being in hell herself.
But Spike noticed it - hopes that helps.

OMIGOD!!!! What an ending!!! Oh glory be, Buffy is starting to return! I LOVE the way you've written how she's been coping living in Hell, it makes complete sense that a sane person would hide inside her head to escape the reality of her situation. My favorite bit is Spike crying at the end, pleading with her not to run away again. Marvelous, wonderful chapter and I can't wait to find out what happens next!

The image of Buffy watching Spike as he masturbated was erotic and built unbelievable tension through the chapter. Her eyes have been opened to his ability to achieve the same pleasure he's given her. The pressure to do the right thing with Buffy so tantalizingly warm and open and willing is going to drive Spike around the bend. It's a wonder to behold.

These dreams are intriguing but too cryptic to understand yet. I can't wait for Spike to figure it out.

Thanks for posting more of this story. It's always a pleasure to read more of this universe.

I'm loving this story so much, I was so happy to see an update. Poor Spike, having an orgasm after 300 years.He 's trying so hard to do the right things for Buffy but eventually he has to snap. He's taking such good care of her.

I have to say, you know how to drag it out just long enough before it gets to be too much. And god, I just feel for thr both of them, I want so much for these characters.
