Nice! This is such a great idea. I thought that they were strangers, Spike didn't go all "It's me, Buffy! Spike, your vampire lover" and played along. Maybe he thought she was joking or something? I don't know, but man, I hope Spike can fix this!

I kept my promise to finish reading your fic and I have. I agree that the story should have ended there. A sequel would be great, but only if you feel it is needed.

I always thought that things could've been just like this if -pike hadn't been been Dru's pet and given away the game to Buffy during their first encounter. Spike always smoldered around Buffy, so of course he would get her off to draw her in. Great way to hook Buffy up with Spike.
