I would have liked to hear more of what Xander had been saying to her. I liked his reemergence in the story and his assessment that Will doesn't know what he wants. That seemed to cut close to their disagreement. I really want to learn what was at the heart of that relationship collapsing.

Your characterizations in this fic are absolutely wonderful!! Not just Buffy and Spike either; Xander and Joyce are great too :) And as much as I hate the suspense, you do a great job of developing each character along with the story.

seriously tho - he's been smart, if not completely honest. and buffy ... as much as it hurts now, hopefully they can make peace with it. but gotta feeling spike won't be admitting how much he does really care for her - there's a lot of 'drama' in his life, and it's gonna get a lot rockier before it gets better. but here's the big question : will buffy be able to truly move on? and i'm very curious to the levels of anger and hurt in the whole will/xander friendship - gotta wonder if spike really misunderstands xander's thoughts/feelings. looking forward to more!

Sometimes in life in your heart you know the answer you're going to get but you still wholeheartedly wish that you can be proven wrong. That has happened to me WAY too many times, and it can be heart breaking. Poor Buffy! And Poor Spike too, because he might be losing another best friend! I can imagine he'll get really lonely now.

Yeah, I meant interesting in a good way, the baby just started to cry and I had to end my thought. Looking forward to his reaction. I think he's going to break her heart a little bit in the next chapter. Also, more stuff hinted at with the Xander/Will argument. Starting to wonder if Xander might be angry for reasons Will misunderstands. So yes, interesting, thrilling, excited for more.
