It's such a combination of sadness and sense of tragic loss one feel for Buffy and how she brought so much sorrow into her life. So many times that she could have embraced all the love Spike wanted to give her that she threw away.

Loved it so much. 

I don't corletta was the main character in this story. She eclipses buffy. In the end she deserved spike more than buffy did, and spike deserved her. She was a holy martyr, the Mary Sue to end all Mary Sues because she was that amazing. In the end I was more interested in her story than in buffy and spikes. Which I dislike. I almost feel like I was tricked into reading a completely different story with spuffy as a backdrop.

Holy moly - what a great fic! Loved it all, but will love it forever for this desperately romantic epilogue. What a compelling character you've created in Carlotta. And love of Spike haunting a tragic warrior across millenia is so, so delicious. Thank you!

Sorry I didn't review each chapter! I just couldn't stop and take the time I had to read the next one! This was awesome. The epilogue had me heartbroken. To know that she was still there years and years later, still in love with Spike was tragic. I was almost rooting for them instead of Spuffy. And that weird since I love Spuffy. But you had me hooked at the beginning. Spike had finally found someone who loved him just as he was. It took so long for Buffy to get there.

Well im glad im not the only person who stayed up all night to read this. Wow. I love the story. Very well done. However, I simultaneously hate and love all the characters. Every single one. Sometimes I hate them, some parts I love them so by the end, I am hating and loving them at the same time. Which is honestly how I love things anyway so I shouldn't be surprised. But that's how I know its good. Its messy and complicated with loose ends and outcomes where ambiguity abounds. But more than anything it shows how true love can not survive without forgiveness and sacrifice. Beautiful.
