wow. i didn't expect that. you are right about Spike being a stand-up guy in most baby fics. his reaction here was extremely human - fueled by fear, resentment, anger, confusion, and denial. very nicely done. i know it's not the popular position to make Spike less than the perfect man, but you handled this very well. i'm very impressed with how human you have made both Buffy and Spike in this fic. it may be a taboo subject, but the emotions displayed within make this story very real and relatable. excellent job Ashlee!

Addie (for some reason I can't respond to reviews on this story)- I was waiting for someone to mention that about Joyce and the reason I wrote it like that is because that's what my mom asked me when I told her the same thing. I think (and I can't get this through in my writing) is the way I said it to her and I tried to convey that through Buffy, but it's very hard if you can't hear the voice I wrote it in :-) Thanks so much for not 'running' because I am very proud of this story, especially some of the things that are coming up.

I like this story so far. A lot of times I run at the first sign of a baby fic, but you've taken this one in an intersting enough direction that I'm not a afraid. ;) One question I did have thought was with Joyce's response to Buffy having a bad day. I don't know about anyone else, but I know my mother's automatic reponse to that wouldn't be "are you pregnant?" It just seemed a bit rushed and it kinda threw me. I was waiting for Joyce to say she'd found the pregnancy test box in the trash or something. Otherwise, there really needs to be a little more conversation between them or something before Joyce jumps to the pregnancy conclusion. But other than that, another great chapter, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next!

*sniffles* oh that was brutal. very good but wow...........but I do have to commend you making buffy say fuck off in so many words. He's been mean to her and a poophead (as willow would say) I loved Joyce being good mommy and supportive. It's nice to see her portrayed that way. :D can't wait for more!!!!!!!!!!!
