Loving the developments in this story! I KNEW that someone had to have been keeping tabs on the hellmouth. I wouldn't be surprised if both the Council and the Initiative had agents or subcontractors working Sunnydale. Great use of Wesley as a crossover to the Angelverse. He's a great choice as a bridge between the two groups. I was greatly relieved to find that Angel was not accompanying Wes to Sunnydale. As I remember, Angel was not one of my favorite people season 3 of AtS. He could make a volatile situtation into a disastrous, tragic situation. But if you're looking to bring more angst in, I guess he'd be a dead ringer for it (no pun intended). I am also relieved that Giles has decided to get fully on board the Spuffy train. Ok, maybe not on board, but at least not holding the conductor at gunpoint. I hope he is able to neutralize Xander. And goddess, do I hope the events involving the Council don't distract them from the ever increasing problem of Willow's powerfest. I loved your introduction of Spike and Buffy as a couple in front of Wes. Maybe, being an outsider, he will be able to see what the others can't - that there is an uncanny closeness between Buffy, Dawn, and Spike. I loved you last line. Wes always has been an intelligent fellow, and his powers of observation have only increased as he's matured. Here's hoping Dawn's theory is made reality soon. Oh, and loved the inclusion of Tara in the meeting at Giles'. I love every scene she is included in, because she brings such a natural sense of cohesiveness with her. Possibly it's due to her earthen, nurturing nature. In a way, she fills the role that Joyce's death left absent. I think it is a lovely, natural desire for Buffy and Dawn to want to include her in things. I think Joyce would be proud of her daughters, as well as Spike. I just adore the closeness that is building between Buffy and Spike. His reassurances to her sound so heartfelt, as if he truly believes what he is saying (which I'm sure he does). I noticed he is using a lot of pet names for Buffy, but rarely does he say her name when speaking with her. I understand why he doesn't call her 'slayer', but I kind of miss when he called her 'Buffy'. Spike always said "Buffy" so reverently and awe-filled. Spike's use of her given name was one of my favorite things to hear come from JM's mouth. I'm not complaining or criticising, just observing. I think the pet names are great for comforting Buffy, and really give them a sense of coupledom (is that even a word?). I just wish he would say "Buffy" (in that deep, whiskey coated, sensual, loving voice of his). *sigh* Wonderful chapter, wonderful plot developments, and wonderful character developments Nia! I can't wait to see what Wesley has to say about the developments in Sunnydale.

oh yes...another wonderful chapter full of revelations. i am glad that buffy told spike how she felt about wesley coming "alone". she knew he needed to hear it and really handled it well. Giles' ever changing assesment of the budding relationship between buffy and spike is one i am so very glad to see. the fact that the council of wankers is vieotaping them is so very disturbing and can't wait to find out their insne reasons.........they have so many.....as for darla and angel...dust em both and be done with it. that wanker angel needs to be put out of his misery and ours....but hey thats just my feelings....LOL........the touching moments between spike and buffy were beautiful and so full of promise and the love making was just the most special thus far.......now he just needs to claim her....*g*
