I came acroos this today and right away it grabbed me and I couldn't stop reading it till I got to your last update.I'm so blown away by this story and blown more away guessing or just waiting to see what happens next. This is writing at it's best I find myself caring what happens to everyone in this gang outside of the Buffy and Spike relationship. I haven't enjoyed a story this much since watching the shows on tv. Love your work and hope to see a update soon.

As much as I enjoyed the dark angst so far, I also like that things are not as dark between Spike and Buffy. I hope their relationship starts to change slowly from this point on. I'd like to see if she can some day get over what he's done to her. Might be tough though, cause he's really done a lot to get her to hate him. Loved this chapter.
Author's Response: It's good you said that, because I think for a lot of people reading it chapter by chapter along the way, it's easy to forget what Spike did. But don't worry, I didn't forget! lol. I'll work on getting her over it, but I doubt it will be until the end :) Thanks for the reviews!

Wow eveyone and their Aunt Fanny is telling me to read this so I started it tonight and it is so worth a read now I'm emailing it off to everyone I know as well.

My friend and I are total fans of this fic and have been discussing it since the get go. We were talking last night about it and remembered wasn't Spike suppose to give her a gift or something? Then we were trying to figure out what he could get her without it making her seem like a prostitute or mistress to him or make the others curious. Jewelry was out and so was money. We decided on a pet kitten he finds on a job see it trys to attack Dru lol also cause see it will be alert when lackies try to come to her door plus it will try to attack Illiria and Faith and hiss at Harmony. Nothing says Buffy better then a little angry kitten in Spikes book we decided. It was just a funny conversation on following this great fic you keep us both entertained with. We seem to keep guessing on this fic more now then on the spoilers for Veronica Mars we keep hearing!

Woo-yay a new update I was so excited to see I had to jump right in and read it.
They both refur to their sex as (f@cking) so I'm curious to see if Spike will ever switch his moves and start making love to this girl. I just would like to see her reaction to it cause always before she wouldn't let him kiss her. Can't wait till you add more this is just my fav. fic of all time.

Another great chapter in an excellent story. When you take everything away from someone, you make them very dangerous to you. Buffy is a fighter and will not be totally dominated, even though it may wind up killing her. Love the way you have Spike and Buffy doing this dance with each other - great job.

Hey!
Sorry I didn't get a chance to really read this and review till today my monkey nephew is on a toddler war path with the flu.
Ok can I just say I love this softer chapter! We get to see more of them trying to work together and interact with one another. You see more of Spike trying to show her how he feels without giving too much away since he's not sure exactly what it is he feels for her yet.
I like how you have Spike as a thinks on his feet kinda guy even Buffy seemed impressed. Given Spike and Angel's history and how the way Dru betrayed him and then he had to witness first hand the complete and utter anguish of what she did to him after being tortured you really get to see why he has completely shut himself off from anyone and why sex is just a act to him much like a good fight or training. But you write it so you slowly see the old William part of himself emerge a tiny bit inside of him in that he really wants a girl like Buffy. She challenges him, she calls him on things, she won't take his crap, as they battle over wills. Of course how he has gone about this with her and figuring himself out has been wrong but that is the best park of this story he learns along the way.
I read this part
“Don’t you see? You still don’t know your way around this world, Buffy. And if you just stopped hating me for a minute, you might find out that it’s not always about sex.”
And I found myself yelling at my computer screen "Yes! Spike what is it about!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!" Answer the girl heedeeleehoo!~
There are a lot of great lines going on in this where I can really see Spike saying these things and Buffy giving him her classic "You idiot" look heeheehee.
Ha! I just knew it he'd end up snuffing her out once the coast was clear. I liked the dream parts worked into this as well. Seems Spikes biggest fear is losing Buffy to Angel the same way he lost Dru. I am enjoying seeing how he keeps this from happening. Even after the dream he did give her some tidbit of what happened in the past instead of hiding it. I also really loved the fact she booted him out of her room and the fact that he took the booting it shows he has more respect for her now in the fact that she'd tell him to do anything and go along with it. Once again you add in little touches or looks in the chapter along the way to give it a realistic like view much like you watching a movie unfold.
I could go on and on how much I love this and love your work and of course go back to making my Spike chocolate sacrifices to you but I must run!
A MUST read for anyone who every liked Spuffy story.
Author's Response: Lmao. My beta said that she was screaming practically the same thing at Spike during that convo, "Just say it! Say you would still want her!" I got her reluctant agreement that it's better he didn't...yet.
