They are soo cute together. New relationship and being all secretive. Its sweet. And the whole "We’re—starting to get along better" line was awesome. Can't wait for more.

Author's Response: thanks bunches =D yeah I liked that line too...of course it's my story, lol.

Right now, you and Mrs Muir are the ones I anxiously look for to post chapters and stories. Went to your LJ and liked that too. I just wanted to tell you to hang in there even though your family doesn't understand. Whenever my mom (this was a few years ago now!) would complain about some hobby or craft I was interested in I used to play the old 'would you like it better if I was on drugs? Or partied all weekend? Or sleeping around with boys?' When you think about it writing fanfic is a harmless amusement, certainly in comparison with what you could be up to. (Of course I was actually in a very scary religious cult, but she didn't know that at the time so didn't know to worry about that yet. *g*). Anyway, you've a talent and you are working at your art, honing your craft. As long as you aren't performing scary rituals in the basement, they should be thrilled you are doing something so constructive with your time. Thanks for the quick chapters, and keep writing. You do have the gift! And so far the story is progressing nicely, with the humor and the angst. I was also thinking when I was reading that when you write the interactions between Buffy and her parents, her reactions to the situations and statements just scream to me 'her mama raised her right'. About you. And I'm from LA, so I don't know where I'm channeling that from, but there's just something very balanced and grounded in your perspective on those relationships, and how Buffy comports herself even under major stress with them. Very nice. :-)

Author's Response: Wow...thanks so much =D That's one of the things I was most worried about with this fic--that Buffy would come off as immature, or that people would think Joyce was just over-the-top horrible. Your saying that I'm being balanced and grounded about it is incredible. And I've done the whole "At least I'm not (fill in nefarious teen activity here)" *grin* I haven't joined any freaky religious cults yet =D but in a way, Spuffy's sort of a cult...minus the animal sacrifices in the basement. And you were right about honing my skills--I write fanfic to work out things in my writing that I think I need practice with, like funny dialogue or structered character development or whatever. And of course I write it because it's like you said a harmless amusement. I'd like to be able to say more to both you and spufette, because your encouragement mean an absolute ton to me, but the truth is that I'm having trouble finding the words to express my gratitude. It's nice to know that I'm not the only black sheep, and that lots of other people go through their family disapproving of them =D So thank you again and again.

Well, you know I love this story. About your mom and the SR? I get it, really. My husband does not understand my obsession with Spuffy/BTVS/SR any of it. He thinks I should let it all go now. I've been busy with my RL the last few days, no real writing or reviewing. I am reading all my best loved stories here on SR and other sites, just chilling with the reviewing and all. I don't know how old you are, but when it comes to BTVS/Spuffy, etc., I just tell the naysayers this: Spike is Buffy's long haul guy. Why wouldn't any of us, male or female, want the long haul guy/gal in our lives. Let us have this little fantasy, we don't ask for much, right? I know that sometimes the Buffy world seems a little out there to people who don't really understand it. I'm going to relay a funny story to you. (sorry this is so long but it's been so long since I've really been on here!) I work at a big, I mean big aircraft company in So. Cal. I'm no spring chicken, but then again neither is anyone I work with, really. I've never felt really comfortable with discussing BTVS/ATS with co-workers because no one seemed that simpatico about the subject at my job. Oh, I've told certain people I write fan fiction, etc., but never really went into it. About three weeks ago, I was talking business with a co-worker, when a new guy in the area rushed by us. I noticed, right away, this T-shirt he was wearing. It was a 'Buffy Fest' T from San Diego CA and had a heart with a stake through it. This guy, who shaves his head and is no spring chick himself really blew me away, so...I chased after him and started babbling like an idiot about Buffy. Sure enough, his wife and him go to all the 'cons' and collect autographs, etc. He was blown away when I mentioned these sites and our fan fic writing! So, it just goes to show that everyone marches to a different drummer and perhaps it's best just to march right along with them? Your mother will probably grow to accept your need or joy in writing BTVS. Mine did (she's over 75, okay!) Luv, Spuf

Author's Response: lol funny story, and thanks for the reassurance. Yeah none of my friends really get into the BtVS thing either, so what I do is get online and go to places like this site to remind myself that I'm not the only one with an insane obsession =D I think it's like Star Wars or rock music...either you get it, or you don't. And if you don't, then there's no hope for you...my mom might eventually come around. I hope she does, anyway. Thanks again for the (extremely nice and helpful) pep talk!

I love how you saw the hint of anger in Giles and the twist with Ethan being an old teacher. What he wrote to her was so sweet, i cant wait to see where this goes now! I demand Spuffy lol...please update when you can :)

Author's Response: i was actually a little worried that I'd made Giles too mean--apparently not =D glad you liked it...thanks bunches for reviewing!
