Oh that was so freakin' sad! I so wan to cry. I feel so bad for Spike, but my heart so goes out to Buffy, I so totally know what she's going through. That has to be one of the hardest things in life is to let go of someone you love almost more than yourself. Great chapter! I missed this post yesterday so now I'm on to the next! Kuddos!

i can see where buffy is coming from...perhaps not one of her brightess ideas, but she's been hurt before and that scares the shit out of her...and spike...poor fella...the complicated woman he picked out of all the fish in the sea...lol!! it's so like in the series...great job!! i can see things getting better, though it'll take time...thanx!! great story!! thanx

what the hell is her problem has she completly lost her mind? does she always have to be like that cause honestly really annoying. good chapter though and they bette get back togther soon.

Is she at least going to tell him exactly how long or what he exactly has to do to prove himself "worthy" to be in a relationship with her? I mean if she is going to be this demanding and controlling, she could at least tell him what she expects him to do with this "free" time so that she can finally accept him. She apparently wants to control every aspect of his life, including his self-discovery process and all of his thoughts and feelings. She needs to grow up and maybe learn the definition of love. Wow, who would have thought Dru is the sane choice!

So Buffy expects William to jump through some hoops before she will "allow" him to be in a relationship with her. If he doesn't do this, she will not feel secure and be in a relationship with him? Controlling much? How arrogant of Buffy. She will push him to the point of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If she really loved William like she thinks she does, why wouldn't she care about his feelings at all? At this point, she doesn't really deserve him. She could have had a special relationship with someone who experienced everything for the first time with her - instead she wants to turn him into an angry, bitter, untrusting rebel. Then she will think he is ready for a relationship? Issues, issues, issues. Buffy better smarten up very soon. This situation never works and she better make some restitutions quick before she loses him forever.

loved it. completely understand why buffy is acting this way. hope someone comes in and tells buffy how silly she's acting. i mean, she may think that she's doing the right thing but she's only pushing him further away. hope she wises up soon and realizes that she is the ONE for will. keep up the great work. i know you'll make it up to us soon.

What is Spike going to have to do to "prove" he's trying new things? Sleep with Drusilla? Go on a heart broken bender? Buffy's reasons for breaking up with Spike were well thought out, but how can she know his heart better than he does? I hope she regrets this decision soon and in a big way. Extremely well written dialogue in this chapter. Spike's desperation and incredulity came through especially loud and clear.

Stupid,stupid Buffy, But then she always was IMO,she never knew a good thing when it came her way.

Can I say I really don't think she deserves a second chance and I hope he does move on.......or someone that has had this happen to her she has a crazy sense of showing it.....she is being a right bitch.......and I would understand perfectly if he walked away and never came back......LOL, now make me believe there is a reason to want him to take her back......LOL....go girl

I have to say this is quite possibly the best thing you've ever written (that I've read anyway). It was passionate, well paced and very emotional. The previous chapters lead to this very scene in many ways. The reader can relate to the view of both characters equally. We understand Buffy's actions but we still want to stomp all over her for doing it. William's desperation to hold onto the happiness he'd only just found was heartbreaking. The whole scene was very much alive in my mind as I read. A standing ovation from me for this one.
