Joni is cute: "That's okay Daddy. I’ll make you warm." And with her love she is doing it. Beautiful written - and sad again. I hope Buffy will understand the meaning of the flowers.

I loved how Spike is trying to communicate with Buffy through flowers. So sweet. *sigh* But what is up with the 2003 date at the beginning? Joni wasn't born yet? Was that a mistake, or am I just still majorally not getting stuff? And then Spike remembered that memory in 2005 when Joni is a baby. Hmmm, is Spike reliving things agian? God, I'm sorry I'm so confused with things. It must be so annoying for you to keep explaining everything.

Author's Response: Oookay let's start with the basics. Remember on "Angel" ghosty spike kept popping out of W&H? Well, in my story, Joyce made sure he landed with Joni so he'd have a reason to fight later. Ghostly Spike was Joni's imaginary friend. But kids are intuitive. She knows deep down that Spike is her Daddy. Keep in mind that Joyce wouldn't have had to meddle with things if Joni hadn't tried that spell in the beginning. Joni was born, but do you remember the dreams about a little girl that Spike started having soon after Dru went dusty? Those were about Joni. 2005 Spike has recognized Joni as the girl from his dreams, and is now using his "memories " to try and avoid the things that "Interregnum" Spike and Buffy wish they could change.
