I loved, loved, loved this story, but I HATE the ending. Give me more to it. Something else has to happen. This story still has SOOO much untapped potential.

I just found this and read it all the way through in one sitting. It was very good up until the last few chapters. It felt like the ending was really rushed.

Sorry honey, not a very good fic. It had its moments but too much inconsistencies in the plot and overall characterisation. Too many out-of-character traits and conversation that wasn't needed. Started out promising, but it seemed to get away from you after a while and just got way too messy. I feel a little cheated ;)

Awwww. This was such a bittersweet ending. They were broken up for so long and you end it with the possible promise of a new beginning. I can't say it's what I was hoping for but it was beautiful and it did fit. Wonderful story sweetie.

What is the deal with all the anonymous people?

I liked the story, and even if I did get a little confused about the ending, it still left me feeling kinda fluffy inside, altho´i wouldnt say no to a sequel.

Okay... that was a big ol' cheat. The last two chapters were more of a telling than a showing. Not only was it totally out of character for the both of them (Buffy screwing Owen, and Spike screwing no one), the ending was all quick and "blah." If you really appreciated your loyal readers, you'd fix these last two chapters- as in delete and start over. Redeem yourself as a fic writer and fix it...

okay - depressing much? lol.

I love the story - the ending was a bit if-y for me -but still well written. Though I think I have to read some pure fluff now - depression is not a place I need to be right now. I need no angst, total fluff, and some ice cream. lol.

I really was confused by and didn't like the ending. She came back four years after college or four years after her first time there meaning before she ever went to New York? The angst you created at the end was some of the most interesting and exciting in the whole story, but you didn't really seem to go anywhere with it. Maybe that was just me because the end just confused me. I'm just not sure they ever got back together or what might have happened. I feel like you just stopped the story rather than chose an end for it. I understand the concept of leaving things open ended, but this didn't even answer enough of what was going on at the end of the story to let me wonder what would happen next. The other thing that was odd was that Dawn was present in the diner toward the beginning and then just disappeared. I'm sorry to sound negative, but I'm feeling kind of 'the who whatting the how with huh?' about now.

Spent most of the day reading this and loved everything until Chapter 32. From then on I have to say that I felt cheated. I like my Spuffy to have a happy ending but understand that this is not always possible - unfortunately! With regard to Cordelia, I don't get her part in the story at all. Am I to understand that Angel kissed Buffy when he knew that Spike would see them? Was it pre-planned? If so why would Buffy accept her apology. They fought so hard to be together throughout and then Spike becomes "loves bitch" yet again. Lots of hard work I understand but the ending sucks. Sorry.

I thought this story sucked. Don't know what else to say, but I thought I wasted a good 2 hours of my day reading it.

So, I've followed this fic from when you started it until now and I really appreciate it that you've finished it. The ending was ... short and a little abrupt, but I can see why you kind of left it up in the air. It gives it a nice, hopeful feel and leaves a lot of room for interpretating.

The only thing I had a problem with is the way you wrote the last two chapters. Don't get me wrong, you're an AMAZING writer... I think I've read every single one of your stories and have never been disappointed. I just thought it was a little bit inconsistent with the rest of the story. You always paid so much attention to the moment and drew us into their relationship, whereas in the last few chapters, I felt like I couldn't really get into it. It felt kind of... empty.

But other than that, this has been one of my favorite stories and it's been an incredibly fun read.

I haven't reviewed at all this whole story so I'm just going to put it all in one. Although i was dissappointed with the fact that you already ended it and the context of it but the way you ended it was nicely. I will admit I do wish there had been a rekindle of a relationship. I was majorly upset with the fact that they ended it for such a dumb misunderstanding. I didn't like how they didn't talk to each other for over a year and a half but I truly did like how you ended it(the fiction). You left it ip in the air(and this is my point of begging you nicely for a sequal...perhaps them working together more to get to a new relationship). However it wasn't cliched. And I like that. Movies where the person is leaving is always leaving them to rush to the persons departure and yada-yada-yada. It's happeneing the same in Spuffy fanfiction. It got old by the beginning of the 90's. You made it look real. Great job on the whole story.

I have been following this story and I very much enjoyed their friendship. However, I am afraid that I agree with some of the other reviewers.

True, an author who leaves an ambiguous ending intends for the reader to draw upon their own conclusions, however this didn't give us enough information to do so. It left me feeling a bit hollow and confused. Even after reading it a few times, the only thing I could really pull from it was that he waited pathetically for her to come back. If the whole town knew he was waiting for her, then it would be safe to say that word got back to her too, so she just bid her time - letting him wait until she... what? Realized her feelings? Had her fun and knew she had a sure thing waiting when the fun was over?

It was a good story, and again, I enjoyed their friendship and cheered for them to work out their relationship - yet now, with what little information given, I can only say that I am angry with Buffy (though I am not sure if I am suppose to be) and just a bit disappointed.

Still, over all a fine fic and even if I didn't quite like the ending, I appreciate that you didn't leave it unfinished.

Cheers,
Nina

The last chapter.. I think I've read it three time now to really read it and I understand it better than when I've read it the first time.
Still: It's heartbreaking if you think about it: They were friends for so long, got together and never tried to go back together after that? Like Spike was there for her graduating and she didn't know. And now she's gone, seeing Spike a last time even if she is sure that she loves him. (That's the reason she slept with Owen, huh?.. will say it makes even less sense to me she slept with him). Awkward.. Spike didn't let her say any more. Maybe he was with another woman then, answering the door only with a sheet. Even that what Anya said makes it sound as if he was alone.
Sorry.. for me the ending doesn't fit. Even if it is quite hopeful for how it will end, she is simply coming back after four years? For me something is missing here.
I loved reading the story from the begin and I don't regret reading it (I just didn't like the last chapters). But I would have wished for another end.
It is your story and your choice how to end it, I know that. But it did disappoint me a bit. However this would have gone in real life, in my fanfics I like my happy endings.

Loved your story all the way. Still, must agree with the previous comment, the ending was sort of a disappointment. I do like and respect the content but wish there was more to the writing. The final chapter appears to me it was written in a bit of a hurry somehow. Usually I like minimalism in writng but here it differed too much from the previous chapters. Still, I definately do not regret reading this story . It gave me lots of fluffy-angsty-happy feelings. Thanks for sharing your talent with us!

Wonderful story. I liked the way you portrayed Buffy and Spike's relationship even if they breakup. It was real not sappy. Such endings make you think about the story, carry it with you for a little longer.
