Well - Buffy didn't really read the letter - Fred told: I should have told you when you invited me that I knew who Angel O’ Connor was and what meant to me. .... I doubt if you had chosen to turn the car around and to back to Rhode Island, I wouldn’t have found a way to make you take me to him.... Buffy over read this. At last the truth is out now - it would have come out sooner or later. She, Buffy, is real hurt now. Oh my... *deep sigh*

Spike's duplicity had to be revealed, but Buffy's betrayal was heart wrenching. How is he ever going to earn her forgiveness? Lindsey hs gotten used to having Spike in her life, she'd be devastated if Buffy banned him from seeing his daughter. The angst will make a resolution even sweeter.

See...I knew it was gonna bite him in the tail...damn...I love it..the angst...I wonder how long, if , she will ever forgive him? He needs to give her some space...if he can do that...we all know how persistant Spike can be.

First things first, I really like your writing.
Second: Ouch. What a mess.
What's the saying? The path to hell is paved with good intentions... Though, I'm not sure how "good" his intentions really were, because selfishness does not exactly qualify as such. I understand his motives, but in the end it all comes down to the fact that he should have told her. He denied her any chance to be in control of the situation. It should have been her decision whether she wanted to try and stop her husband who was leaving her for another woman and who never loved her or to make a clean break and move on. But fearing that she might make the "wrong" decision he decided to not let her decide at all. I get that he was afraid. I also get that he chose the way which was convenient for himself in that situation. Head start combined with superior knowlegde. Very nice.
As for Buffy's reaction, I understand that she feels betrayed. He played the sympathetic friend and the co-victim who had also been left. He made her feel guilty because she lied about the identity of her daughter's father. And at the very same time he was building their whole new relationship on a lie. A pretty fat lie. And honestly, the phrase "but we were happy" would definitely cause me to throw pieces of cuttlery. She was happy. But her happyness was to a certain extend based on false information. I would be furious, if other people manipulated my life.
It will be interesting to see, how you get them out of this situation.

Hi Ass, meet my friend Bite. LOL!

Okay so we knew this had to happen (though many candles were lit I'm sure to try and avoid the inevitable). The question I've got to ask, though I hate myself for doing so, is where do they go from here? I earlier suggested that Buffy could be forgiven for going 'off the handle' for a little in reaction to discovering Spike's duplicity and I stand by that. What I hope however is that afterwards, when the emotional processing isn't quite so raw anymore, she'll be able to weigh up what she's lost - a husband who stated he 'never truly loved' her, who wasn't much of a father to her child (by another man I might add), and who broke his vows of fidelity (before Buffy I remind you) - against what she's gained. It's an ugly, unfortunate and convoluted path they walked admittedly but Buffy and Lindsey really seemed as if they had reached a good place with Spike before the proverbial hit the fan. So here's to hoping that Buffy can remember that before too much more is said and irreparable damage is done *crosses fingers - thinks about it a little more - crosses toes, legs and eyes for good measure*

God! That was one of the most painful chapters I have ever read. My heart just broke into pieces. Poor William! Such a good yet bad decision on his part. I could understand why Buffy is so upset, but I still wish that she could have had a more understanding reaction. Just so painful! Please update soon.

*sobs* I hate those words "Goodbye... William" - on the show, on fics.

Still, great chapter, I know things will be better soon. Update soon!

That's just so not good. I hope that when Buffy calms down a bit she will talk to Spike more rationally. He should have told her before.
