Welcome back! so happy to have this update. If there was awar between the family's, who would she want to win? Angelus? Finn? No she'd want her father and Spike to win, she's just got to learn what's improtant here. They brought this on themselves. They knew the consequences of double crossing Spike. Her father's no cherb either. Thanks for getting this to us, looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Thank for the welcomes and the noticing of your thoughts. You're the first to actually say, hey Buffy could be with a worse family. So far she's only met Angelus' family and she's made it clear since the meeting that she got the creeps from him. Honestly Buffy's main struggle with Spike will be the problem she has with his family and I'm trying to make it that only over time she will be able to get over it by having interacting with Spike and his closest peoples. I don't want to give away too much but I refuse to make Spike give up his whole work...turn the right way by the end of this story. That is just not realistic. But this won't be the only conflict that she faces, especially regarding her father. Lets just say as she becomes more involved the story unwinds even more she will find the deep dark secrets that her father kept from the family and her struggle with that. I don't intend on making this a short story obviously.. Hehe. Thanks for the review and an update will hopefully come by Friday if I can get it finished and and look it over by tomorrow because I'm going out of town.

I like that you are actually taking the time to let the characters interact realisticly with one another. Most stories would have had buffy in bed with spike by now... well in the sex sense anyways.. and having them declairing their undying love, but you are actually holding them true to their character. Good story. can't wait for an update.

My biggest worry is that I'm making the story or timeline un realistic or the characters not the right characterization...which was my biggest challenge with this past chapter. In past stories I agree..a lot of the intimate relationships move far too fast and granted this is a fan FICTION I still like to keep it on a level of realiticality {is that even a word? hehe}. Thanks for the review.

First of all, I am really hoping that everything is going pretty well for you right now. I was probably one of the emails, but just wanted to make sure you were okay. NOW onto this great story. I just love the interaction of Spike with puppy Spike. And the attraction of Buffy and Spike is something primal. They have worked (or should I say HE) at trying to keep things separate but after this latest news bulletin, I am not sure that this truce will last between them. And it is great that Dawn has been excepted by everyone in the house thus far. Just a great story and can't wait for the next.

Author's Response: Yes. Thank you, you have noticed the primal attraction between them. Thats exactly what I was going for. I am trying to create a lot of conflictions that will surround the characters but also between them, which the fact that Buffy has to deal with Spike's nature of his job one of the issues. I'm not trying to take sides with whose reasonable to be upset, because both have reasonable ideas and I don't want to create Spike to be whipped by love later and stop being the Mafia King that he is This isn't a hopeful romantic story. It's a romance but I think it should also reflect what would really happen if this situation was true, which is Spike may care for Buffy but he still has his duties.

Great work, and very well-written. Plus, your characterizations are so spot on, that the story itself is very believable.

I was so surprised and glad to see thei update, I thought u had abandoned it . Good chapter , voilent but good and sort of forgot why it's such a moral dilemma for her, but why does she think Spikes worse than her father? Does she really see there roles as being slightly saintier than the other? Update again soon PLEASe

Author's Response: Glad you liked the chapter. To answer your question, what I am trying to go with: is Hank she never saw him do anything, he always made sure that the women in his family never got involved. But she always knew; thats why you saw her so...snappy towards him in the beginning. But mainly she has a problem with Spike because he is more vicious, and you will see him become worse as she spends more time at the house. I'll try and update soon.
