Not liked I loved this update this board needs a new grading system on a story this good to check off.
Spike is in so much pain and still the idea of Angel going near Buffy at all is enough to drive him out to find her. And then the sound of her tears cut into him then seeing her with suck face Angel I hope there are words and Buffy says something to Spike or defends him.

When Buffy went out to the porch, I was flashing back to "Fool for Love". So I thought it was Spike that was walking toward her. At least Spike didn't here Buffy say "it was terrible".

I'm wondering if Angel, with his photographic memory, is going to put 1880 and William's girl together as one and the same. He was really good at puzzles, as long as they weren't directly linked to his own decisions. I so don't want him to be cruel now!
Poor Spike....and Buffy's being a moron if she insists on holding to that Council line. But, if she lets herself consider "death", "Spike", and William's feelings if she was lost, she HAS to feel both guilt for still causing his death, and rage at Willow etc. for bringing her back. She might have been able to convince William of the dangers of the night if she'd been truthful, but she wasn't and tried alone to protect him.......and as soon as she was gone.....She did him a disservice, so of course, Buffy doesn't want to think about it.
At least Dawn has a brain in all this, but will anyone else, including our couple?
Author's Response: A lot of people think that Buffy is being an idiot for refusing to accept the connection between William and Spike, but really, I can't say I blame her for being willfully obtuse. To admit that they are the same person would be to admit that the man she fell in love with became a serial killer -- and a particularly brutal one at that. Whether she'll be able to face reality is a question that will be answered in future chapters, and I hope you enjoy them when they come. Thanks so much for the review! :-)

You are heartless really! I've been waiting a century for your update and what did i get? My heart was thoroughly broken for Spike! It's bad enough that Buffy in her current state thinks that Spike is a monster, you have to throw in the embrace between Buffy and the Devil! I am so royally pissed! I could just picture Spike all bloodied and broken but still so determined to get to Buffy. Then seeing the two together in a loving embrace would surely KNOCK HIS HEART OUT!
And that's not all! I could see in the future that Spike will undergo much more heartaches to prove to Buffy that he is still William underneath it all. Even if there is no William left in him, his remaining self Spike has fallen in love with Buffy once again. Im sure Buffy with her proud and mighty attitude would not accept Spike as it is. I loath to see Spike grovel again for crumbs from Buffy . No girl deserve that much adulation.
My blood is boiling because of you. Even though you love to torment your readers I admit that you are really a very good writer I've forgotten that this is only a fiction! LOL!

This story is absolutely amazing. I had been off the fanfiction scene for a long while when I came across this story and from the first page I was glued to the computer through Chapter 44.
I'm sorry Part II was not well recieved because I absolutely loved it. It got into William's head much more than in Part I and because of this his transformation into Spike was seamless. I thought the 'family' dynamic was so good that it almost seemed as though the flashbacks in the series were based off of this rather than the other way around.
There's not enough I can say about story. Characterizations (especially of William, whose character is only shown breifly in two episodes) were flawless and all the little details of Spike's early history sprinkled throughout "Buffy" that might have been forgotten were integrated into the plot. (Like the story Spike tells Dawn about the little girl in the coalbin)
I will be checking for updates probably more often than any other story. Epecially now when things are coming together so wonderfully. I am at the edge of my seat.

Hmm I'm really waiting for that talk between Spike and Buffy which has to come. They have to face there time together and work something out.
As much as I like Angel/Buffy in some stories (hmm I know not the right place to say this) I really don't like them in this story.
William and Buffy fit so good together and you wrote a fucking good story for them.
So I'm really waiting here to see how you will continue with their story.

that's not good, i was so happy when you started part 3, but this isn't going exactly how i thought it would. i was hoping buffy would tell angel to leave, and decide to give spike a chance, realizing that william is still alive in him. i really hope she doesn't go back to treating him horribly. angel needs to go, i don't understand why they always have to get him involved. buffy doesn't need him. he's a jerk for rubbing it in spike's face like that. i still like this story, but i hope things would get better for them soon.
Author's Response: I agree that it would have been nice if Buffy could have told Angel to hit the road and then leapt into Spike's arms amid a blazing (indirect) sunset and swelling violins, but I just don't think that would be realistic.
