Aaarrrg, the job thing got me in the series too. Poor girl.
"You're my charge" Then act like it Giles!

Ok the shouting was accidental. It was a little left over TV show rage. Bunch of Asses, I had a really tough time liking the Xander Willow and Giles after season 5. Xander I kinda stopped liking after season 3.

They were just such an unlikable bunch after a while. If it hadn't have been for Spike Dawn Tara and kinda Harmony, I would have lost interest sometime during the fourth season.
Anya was kinda awesome too, but bitter season 7 Anya ruined her character for me.

I might need a fan to fan myself from the hott-ness of the opening chapter if it was not freezing out here. You have really outdone yourself with this on with the up close moments between these two. And then with such possessiveness Spike wants to know if she let Angel touch here I was again feeling the steam. I especially liked the part where they almost exchange vows in telling the other that they are "Yours" and then this “I love you, Buffy. Let me love you.” was just the exact perfect William/Spike thing to say. As always I love your writing and this story and wanna get down on bended knee myself and beg for just a little bit more.

Author's Response: The "I love you, Buffy. Let me love you," line was actually Spike echoing Buffy's words to him back in chapter seventeen (when she seduced him). But I don't think most readers caught that, because it happened over a hundred thousand words ago, lol. It's nice to know that it was touching the second time around, and that you enjoyed the chapter. I really appreciate your taking the time to always review. It really makes my day. :-D

Oh I love this and such loving between the two I love when you make it so they forget to be all Spike and Buffy and resort back to their more basic side of being William and Elizabeth and being good to one another. So well done I read it twice! Please more!

Author's Response: That's exactly what I hoped you guys would see - that, for the moment at least, both of them were able to drop their guards enough to behave like their former selves. I think even in canon, both characters had the potential to be very gentle (Spike, especially), but for some reason the writers never chose to explore that. I am, and it's nice to know that you appreciate that. :-D

Author's Response: It's lovely to know that my readers are enjoying Dawn. For some reason, her character is coming so easily to me; I feel really connected with her, so it would be awful to think that people hated her. Thank you for taking the time to tell me otherwise. :-D

Really like how you made their confesions of love to one another in small whispered words which would be so like Elizabeth and William like thing to do in soft spoken tones. Call me crazy but the barely being able to hear Buffy's confesion seemed the perfect Buffy like thing to do and Spike grabbing her in reaction was just so perfect a moment in reading it as the reader you yourself feel your own stomach flip a little.

I just love how Spike tells her like it is and gives her something to think about and face at the same time. He so desperately loves her and she him I keep rooting for them both. Dawnie was cool and funny and the perfect teen moments that made me laugh.

Author's Response: As much as Spike resembles William (particularly when he is around Buffy) his devotion is definitely no longer slavish. He adores her and would do anything for her, but I don't think he's going to be willing to be a doormat. I'm glad you enjoyed the confrontation. Spike always struck me as a communicator ... someone who would much prefer to discuss a relationship and hash out its problems. Buffy seemed to internalize everything. Author's Response: Thank you! Slipping into Dawn's voice has become so natural. As with Spike, I think I just "get her" somehow, if that makes sense. It's wonderful to know that you think I'm doing a good job. :-)

I was so excited to see a new page come up as it is my favorite story around I just love how you plase Buffy againest either other in this and how they have this romance and love that no one can stop. A loving and touching fanfic that not many could hold a candle to.
Please more this is like a book that I want to never end.

Beautiful chapter! There were several moments when tears actually pricked my eyes during the first scene with Buffy and Spike (er...more likely William at that point, huh?)

I really hope that Buffy doesn't allow everyone to totally ruin her chance at happiness, but knowing her she most likely will...at least for a bit anyway.

As far as the job issue, her friends are ass monkeys in my opinion. Willow and Tara should have been helping out with rent and food from the begining. Why did they think that they could just mooch off her anyways? Grr...infuriating, really.

Congrats on your win at the Spuffy awards! I'll be waiting rather impatiently for the next update, I truly love this story!

Author's Response: Yes, I definitely think we were seeing "William" at that point, lol. I've had a few reviewers on another site comment that Spike seems passive during the first scene with Buffy (one used the word "weak"). I don't see him that way at all. In fact, I think canon Spike was actually a very sensitive and nurturing person. One of my favorite scenes was in season five when he reached out to stroke Dawn's hair when she was upset - only to jerk his hand away when she looked at him. He wanted so badly to express that gentle side, but he had no idea how because by that time, he himself believed it to be a sign of weakness. In my story, he's able to expose that vulnerability to Buffy because he knows she's seen it before, in London, and that she never judged him for it. I don't know if he necessarily *wants* to melt under her touch and become what he considers his former, pathetic self; but he just can't help it. Being with her, and having her be tender to him, opens up that part of him. I know this was a pathetically long reply to your lovely review, lol. But since I got so far behind in answering it, I suppose I had more to say. Thank you for the comments and for the congratulations. I hope you continue to read and enjoy. :-)

Spike and Dawn are so cute and fun together in this fic and both are a support system for the other from every one elses crazy. I loved Buffy for finally going and following her heart and not everyones expectations of her. Love this it never seems forced or rushed or has a sudden plot hop it sis always 4 stars when I read it.

Without her, I don't know if his relationship with Buffy could have progressed because he used her as a sort of sounding board and, as you said, a means of support. Hopefully, he will one day be able to depend on Buffy for that as well.
