I know I'm not known for my bright ideas, and judging by the protests of my back and neck, spending about 8 hours glued to the computer (okay, I took some necessary breaks) isn't one of 'em... But I finally managed to read all 61 chapters in one go!
And all I can say is: !!!!WOW!!!! This is indeed a wonderful, and addictive story! You weren't exxagerating the characters study prospect one bit... But, as I happen to like examining the heads of the characters anyway... this is just the kind of story for me!!!
Keep up the good work!!!

Spike does seem half crazied either from fear or hunger and hes not thinking clearly which sort is but isnt Buffy fault everybody needs to open up a little and be honest but now with Dawn getting sliced open I dont see that happening cause Buffy always reacts first and thingks second most time.

Dawn fought very hard for giving Spike a chance to stay. He didn't like it one bit.
Oh my, what a roller coaster for Spike. He was almost crazy (hysterical), not having feed properly too. (I don't have a better word for his state of mind.
And then all went wrong. For now the worst is stopped (the eggs won't hurt) but the eggs still can cause hurt. Because Buffy won't take it well that Dawn is hurt. I hope she won't accuse without listening to what happened.
Spike will feel bad enough without it.
Author's Response: Oh, Buffy will definitely not be happy when she finds out what happened, but now that Dawn is injured, there is no way Spike can conceal what he's been doing. Thanks so much for the review!

Author's Response: The sad thing is that Dawn was the one who kept trying to bring Spike to his senses because she was afraid he would be hurt in his money-making scheme. I truly feel sorry for Spike for he's just so low right now. Since that time he saw Angel comforting Buffy after she came back he has had no footing with her on what to expect. In the past when they were together he was still a man and she was in his home and he felt he had some control cause he was the master of the house and she was a nurse to his mother. But here in now time he's a ex-killer, been sexually attacked by Angel, been a fighter, and learned she knew all along what was gonna happen to him and did have a relationship with him anyways. Spike has no idea where he fits in and he's almost reduced to being a begger for her affections and she really has not said to him where he fits into her life. KInda bugged me she was looking into taking a class when so many other things are going on underneith her nose.

The ring she kept but won't wear
Spike falling apart
Buffy being amused by his puppy love of her
And shes looking at a class? Girl please! Wake up and smell the smoke cause your house is on fire!!!
Now Dawn has gone off and got herself into trouble and Spike will be blamed and then will come a game of kick the Spike. Come on Buffy surprise me!!!!!
Author's Response: You bring up an excellent point about Angel being the root of Spike's insecurity. His self-esteem not being the healthiest to begin with, he's also had to live through an incredible amount of trauma in his long life. The repeated lack of control - the loss of Elizabeth, the rape, Buffy's betrayal, etc - has made his confidence plummet even more. And although he acts tough, underneath, you know he's bleeding. At least, this is what I was hoping to get across to readers. I'm glad that you let me know I succeeded. Thank you!

My heart for Spike just is all achy and now this attack on Dawn and Giles knowing about the money. I think I better start rubbing a rabbits foot and praying to the powers that be that they all pull through this one and their love will survive.

This chapter is so fraught with anxiety, eruptive anger and suppressed violence: it feels like the string of all this - this mixed bag of emotion, of control - is just about to snap. The gaping wound in Dawn's stomach is probably the deadly cut which leads to the deadly snap of that proverbial tightly-drawn string.
And then? You certainly know how to keep tension and emotion just on a brink ......

Author's Response: This chapter was so draining for me to write. James says that he was a method actor when he played Spike; I suppose I'm a method writer. Whenever I write Spike, whatever he feels, I feel as well, and as you mentioned, there was a lot of anxiety and suppressed rage on his part in this chapter. Blimey I was extremely happy to see an update so soon - thank you very much. Still feel so sorry for Spike. He just seemed to be in distruction freefall although I think Dawn's injuries my bring him to his senses. Now Buffy's going to find out what he's been doing and it'll have all been for nothing. I think I'll be reading on with my eyes covered from now on but I stil love this so much.

This chapter made me really sad... but the writing is good, and I love the fact that Spike's thoughts and emotions are so overwhelmingly deep, because that's always how I've characterized him in my head. I'm not asking for a spectacularly happy ending, but if they could just end up together? Maybe? Because like someone said before, I don't really see how this could end well for anyone..

Oh goodness NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! I absolutely love your characterization of Dawn, but you're torturing me here! Oh gosh. I'm just having so much trouble seeing how this can work out to even a SEMI happy ending. :( But I want one so much.... Spike really changed this chapter, even before Dawn got hurt.
