Now I've read this through all at once.
It's really a great story. It catches the readers interest from the very beginning and keep it through the whole fic (so far anyway). You are very good at catching and keeping the characters true to themselves even in a Human AU fic. Both Spike and Buffy is stubborn and you've caught that perfectly. I love that.

I like (or even love) the fact that Spike didn't exactly make it easy for her when she called him the first time and he shouldn't. She was the one who walked away and she has to pay the price. She hurt his feelings so much by letting him go that way. And for him it hurt so much more because he was in love with her. It's always harder to let go of someone when you love them. Of course he is angry with her. They were best friends.

But I won't put all the blame on Buffy, if either one of them had been honest with each other from the start nothing of this would have happened. True friends can be honest about everything, so I have to wonder if Spike is also hurting over the fact that Buffy didn't trust him enough to tell him she loved him. And that he couldn't tell her the same thing. `Cause that would mean that maybe their friendship wasn't what he believed it to be. I don't know, just thinking out loud :P

And now of course I'm s curious about the future. I hope they will get it together because they do love each other. And I'm dying to know about Spike and Dru's relationship. It obviously wasn't that good after a while and she obviously cheated on him with Angel. But I really want to know about the accident. If it really was an accident at all :P

As I said, I do hope they will get together in a loving relationship in the future. But I hope you will keep Spike angry for a while, Buffy should have to fight a bit to win him back.

A great story from a great writer! Good job, keep it up!

Grrr, I have one complaint, the chapters are too short...lol! You always leave it at an evil place. Have to say, I didn't think Spike would show up. What happened to Willow? A part of me was hoping he would witness her drunk, but it sucks that she had to throw up in front of him. At least she missed the shoes. Thanks for the fast update=)

I really am enjoying reading this fic, your a very good writer. I'm glad he decided to go see her, now I just hope they don"t muck it up, maybe once Willow finds out the truth about their feelings , she can interfere and play matchmaker.

And don't apologize for leaving things the way they were in Chpt. 7. That's part of the "cliffhanger" and a matter of each person's interpretation. Makes you want to read more.. no matter if you are Spike or Buffy 'centric.

The alcohol made Buffy depressed? Not a nice side effect. The whole bottle, no wonder Buffy feels bad now. Maybe better if Willow would come over; Spike didn't call/react tried to call but didn't reach her. (I still wonder what happened with Dru but I guess we'll come to that at one point.) He doesn't really want to talk to her. The more surprising that he showed up at Buffy's door before Willow did.
Oops :-D Not a nice greeting but at last Buffy missed Spike's shoes. I wonder if he'll play nursemaid now :)
