Great chapter! That was Harmony in the kitchen, wasn't it? Big surprise for Buffy, maybe she'll be angry for a while now, I know I would. And no way, Spike will "forget" about Buffy, just because he was with someone else, it will only get worse.

A magnificent chapter... again! As if you could write anything but that. :D I loved the whole chapter, the scene with the pen, the conversation between Buffy and Willy which was oh so very revealing and damn over Buffy discovering what a naughty boy Spike was with Harmony. Boys will be boys I guess. ;) And he wasn't about to stop his ways after only a few days, it wouldn't have been natural or in character. Hey to be honest I haven't been keeping up with this fic or any Spuffy fic lately, but I decided to visit TSR today and when i saw that you updated I read the new chapter. My opinion, I like this twist. Seems to be in character for him I think. But why the comeuppance if they're not together? He doesn't owe her anything. If the payback is another love interest for her like some are suggesting, please not that big bore Riley. Like how about a Johnny Depp lookalike, but then with the cheekbones that could come off as him being used as a substitute and my Johnny's no substitute. There's also the very pretty Ryan Phillippe, SMG did Cruel Intentions with. It'd be a change of pace from most fics having a third party that's attractive and charismatic enough to be an actual threat to Spike LOL. But I still don't think having her sleep with someone else as quickly as Spike did with Harmony would be in character for her though. *shrugs*

Great Chapter. Made me definitely want to go back and catch up with the rest that I missed.

This fic has a lot of twists and turns in it that people won't expect - and yeah, I agree that even though Buffy really has no right to be mad, she's 'acting out' as it were. As for her being with someone else, yeah, it's going to happen but not as a payback to Spike and nooooooooo, no Riley. Ick!!!! Buffy's not really running hot and cold. She's trying to maintain a comfortable working relationship with someone she doesn't really realize she has feelings for. It's a tightrope, and the mutual attraction, though hard to deny, is still new. Spike takes even their tentative friendship as Buffy giving in.

It makes perfect sense that Spike would consider his growing feelings a symptom of not having sex for a while. He's not used to caring for women. They've just been used for scratching an itch in the past. Buffy's reaction to Harmony also belies her intense not caring very much that Spike's getting said itch scratched. For a genius, he sure is an emotional bonehead. Their relationship is tense and hilarious and I love that Willy sees right through them.

Hungover Buffy, still bristling from walking in on Harmony, should be loads of laughs on Saturday morning. I can't wait.

Author's Response: She really is, but of course it's tough with a guy like Spike, pushing buttons she's never had pushed before. ANd really, Spike being 23, well, I don't know a ton of 23 year old guys who don't tend to think with their second brain and then justify it somehow - that's testoerone for ya, but of course he's not really 'with' Buffy so in his head, he didn't do anything wrong - like you said, emotional bonehead. But like other folks, you're right. They aren't together so he can do whatever he wants... however.... his comeuppance is simply Buffy reacting badly due to her attraction for him but he will actually learn something which is the important part. i love this story. i really think its awesome. i read your author's note at the very end however and it made me a little sad. i don't know if this is just my opinion, or the opinion of other readers as well, but if you have chapters ready,... why wait a week to post them. i know it drives me crazy during the week, and not in a good way. the story is so funny and well written that i juts want to read as much of it as i can. yeah

just wanted to let you know. :/

The reason why some authors choose to post once a week despite having chapters ready is that (and I'm not saying I speak for all those authors) we like to go over our chapters very thoroughly and I know I'm constantly tweaking little things here and there. It gives us time to finish writing the story knowing that we have chapters in reserve in case RL problems arise – kids getting sick, visitors, vacation - and I like to really polish my chapters up as much as possible before posting – it’s the virgo in me, giggles. Plus a week gives every reader a chance to read according to their work schedules and such. Some people don’t get to read the updates until later in the week and then they might be lost not knowing I’d posted so close together. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for the review – hugs.

Well, Spike just proved to Buffy what she had already known - he only cares about sex and not about the woman. So Buffy will run even further away. I'm actually looking forward to Buffy finding a guy who actually cares about her. I hope Buffy gets to have sex with someone, too. It's not fair that Spike gets to have that release but not Buffy. She does need to get laid. How stupid is Spike to bring Harmony to the apartment when Buffy and him are supposed to be rooming together in secret? Is Spike so mad at Buffy that he is tying to cause her all of this trouble at work also? If so, he definitely needs a comeuppance.

Author's Response: Oh yes, he did - he was predictable and of course she reacted badly only b/c she does find him attractive, not that he did any wrong doing to her personally. You're another reviewer who has wondered about Buffy being able to have some bed fun with someone else. But I do have to say, as tempting as that is, given her age and prudish character, it would be kind of 'out there' for her to respond as such. They're hardly beholden to each other at this point, so I don't really care that he went and got laid. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up thinking about Buffy the whole time he was with Harmony.
