Author's Response: Nope, no happy ending this time – poor Spike. As far as Buffy being so timid around men, well, that’s be revealed in a later chapter – it’s all about timing, trust me. Part of me wants to say you’ll be surprised why, another part me thinks you may not, but either way, it’s a plan of mine not to reveal why until JUST the right moment, *winks*. Ok so it might have taken me a week to read your story from start to this chapter but it was soooo worth it! I had been meaning to read it for a long time now but I was caught up in other fics and other stuff...Anyway, this story is AWESOME and I'm now currently kicking myself for not reading it earlier. ;)

I love the whole up and down thing going on and its only been like a month, not even. I really do feel that when you meet the right person you know practically from the start at least in your gut.

SO, now that you have me totally hooked I can't wait to read the next chapter!

Dum dum DUM!!! Trouble in paradise I see! Loved the steamy massage and Buffy FINALLY jumping Spike, but of course this is Murphy's Law we're talking about here. I wonder what Buffy's gonna do about Angel now that this has happened. I love their little bitchfight too; it reminded me of Xander and Harmony's fight from Season 4. It also seems Spike hasn't grown up entirely yet, but at least he realizes part of it's his fault. And 2 steps forward you say.... Hmmm..... Definately interested to see how that goes! This story gets better and better every chapter; I am fully addicted! Can't wait for more!

As for him pushing her away? Well, he's in too deep and wants her too much to ever push her away, but he has his pride too. Until they suss things out - in next chapter - he won't make a move. As for the slapping I found it both hilarious and HOT!! People get their knickers in a knot too much about supposed 'abuse' jeezo it's not like he punched her in the face or something. In fact you took me back to my childhood to the first Snarky relationship I ever loved on a British kids show called Press Gang (which is freakin amazing btw) where a guy called (funnily enough) Spike and a girl called Lynda had a serious love hate thing going on and there was a slapping scene that you sooo reminded me of (that was both funny and hot too incidentally)
Anyhoo, anyone who's gonna complain about abuse is probably gonna get their panties in a bunch about something or other eventually no matter what you write so pay it no heed if it happens is what I say!

The kitten was an excellent present and will be a reminder of Buffy's Valentine present. It's no wonder Spike's frustrated, but asking for a "happy ending," pushing Buffy over the line she's drawn, could have been disastrous.

The adolescent slap fight was more like a pushing match, heightening both their over stimulated emotions, keeping them both close. Their proximity, and both worked up to a fever pitch, it's no wonder she just dove in for the kiss. The result was erotic and intense. I can't wait to see if she offers to ride in to work together any time soon. My guess is she's mortified and looking at anything but Spike in the morning. She's opened the door, though, and there's no way Spike is just going to let her close it again.

Here's hoping this prompts a break up with Angel and more intense, impromptu kissing.

The little slap-fest was like a foreplay of passion - bringing their inner most emotions to a head which Buffy acted on. Second, the slapping. *LOL* No, I'm not gonna give you a hard time about it.
